[whilst on duty at work; answering a call]
Dismukes: Hello? Oh, everything is fine. No trouble here. I’ll sleep when they stop riding.

[to some soldiers]
Dismukes: Hey, fellas. I’m the VM guard behind that grocery store across the street. I’ve come bearing gifts.
[he gives them some coffee]
Soldier: Thank you. You got any sugar?
Dismukes: Ah, don’t push it, man.

Krauss: It’s a war zone out there. They’re destroying the city.

Man on Bus: Woh, hey, y’all seeing this? Hey, look, we’re not so far from The Algiers. Let’s just go there until all this blows over.

Man #1: When you’re black it’s almost like having a gun pointed at your face. It’s like this.
[he takes a gun and points it at his friend]
Man #1: Hey, boy! What you doing in my street?!
Man #2: Get that gun off me.
Man #1: Or what?
[he shoots the gun and it sets off the soldiers out in the street]
Dismukes: Who’s shooting?

Soldier: Shots fired. Shots fired. Near The Algiers Motel.
[the police surround The Algiers Motel]

Man #1: Hey, y’all, there’s a bunch of police outside right now.
[the start shooting at the building]

[to the people in the motel]
Krauss: Let’s not be stupid in this situation. You need to tell me where the gun is. I got all night, people. You will tell me everything.

Krauss: Tell me exactly what is going on here?

[to the people in the motel]
Krauss: I’m just going to assume you’re all criminals.

Krauss: [to Greene] You don’t talk about this to anyone ever. Understand?

Krauss: You think we’re bluffing? We don’t bluff!

Julie: [to Flynn] They’re kids. What’s the matter with you?

Dismukes: [to Morris] I need you to survive the night. Why is this happening?

Speaker: [to the crowd] This city has problems. A change is coming.

[waiting in an interrogation room when two detective enter]
Dismukes: Is any of this about what went on at the motel?
Detective Thomas: What happened at the motel?
Dismukes: You don’t know, I’ll tell you. I was working security by Wisconsin and on Tuesday night we heard gunfire coming from the area near The Algiers. Police was there. There was a lot of shooting. When I went in there three kids had been killed.
Detective Thomas: No. So they were killed right before you got there.
[the other sighs]
Dismukes: Sir?
Detective Jones: You carry a 38, right?
[Dismukes doesn’t respond, Thomas smacks the table in anger]
Detective Thomas: A revolver, you carry a revolver.
Dismukes: I do have a 38.
Detective Thomas: You ever shoot anyone?
Dismukes: I didn’t do it. Please…
Detective Jones: Ah, here we go.
Dismukes: I told you what I saw.

Detective Jones: Melvin, you want to go home?
Dismukes: Yeah.
Detective Thomas: What happened at the motel?

Krauss: I’m trying to help here.

Morris: I did not kill this man.
