Jennings: Mr. Kenny Wells, why don’t you start from the beginning.

Kenny Wells: [voice over] It was April, ’88. I’d lost my house. I lost everything. I was on the balls of my ass, scrambling. Most people would have been dead, but not me. I had a dream. Gold. Just haven’t found it yet.

Kenny Wells: [voice over] I had a dream, it was like I was being called. It was gold calling. Gold.

[referring to gold]
Kenny Wells: [voice over] In Indonesia it was booming.

Lloyd Stanton: Not our money.

Kenny Wells: This gold business hooked me on a few years ago, but it’s amazing how a little gold dust can just change everything.

Michael Acosta: We got a goldmine.
Kenny Wells: We got a goldmine?
[they hug each other]
Kenny Wells: We got a goldmine! We got a goldmine!

Kenny Wells: They were coming at me from all sides.

[Wells gets out of the Jacuzzi]
Kenny Wells: You know, this son of a bitch he already controls more gold than anyone on the goddamn planet.
Businessman: With the possible exception now, Mr. Wells.
Kenny Wells: So this is how it happens, yeah?
Businessman: This is how it happens.
Kenny Wells: Goddamn.

Man: We’re talking over thirty billion dollars.

[referring to the tiger in the cage]
Kenny Wells: This isn’t a deal.

Michael Acosta: These people are killers.

Kay: [to Wells] These people are using you.

Kenny Wells: The gold is mine, I found it!

Kenny Wells: [to Woolf] You see these hands, I will bury you with these hands.

Kenny Wells: [voice over] You don’t want to talk about the truth.

Kenny Wells: What happened?
Jennings: What happened? Seventeen billion dollars disappeared overnight, and very powerful people are very angry.

Kenny Wells: Seventeen billion dollars disappeared overnight.

Jennings: And the only question I’m left with is how did seventeen billion dollars disappear overnight?
