Having being a huge fan of Chloe Moretz and Jude Law, this film appealed to me. Hugo is a film about a 12 year old boy (played by Boy in the Striped Pajamas Asa Butterfield) who lives in a Train Station. Having lost his mother at an early age and then his father in a fire, Hugo sets out to finish building a broken robot his father had found and tried to fix with him whilst alive.
The 3D in this film is mesmerizing and the effects have been done exceptionally well, but the story line failed to please me; it became boring at parts and by the end I was wondering why it took them so long to explain such a simple story. By being such a long story it wound up confusing me at most of the points of the film. I was disappointed to see Jude Law only having a cameo in this film as the trailer made it seem as though he was a main part, though Chloe Moretz and Asa Butterfield both did good acting. This is the first film I have seen which has contained Chloe Moretz and I have disliked, which left me very disappointed.
Overall I give this film 2 stars and would not recommend it to people who get bored easily or aren’t interested in clocks, history or old films.View Movie Quotes
