Factual: Just
when Major Whittlesey and his men are about to head over the top, he
does a walk down the trench with his men ready for combat. Just when
starts walking, you see a couple soldiers armed with Mauser type
rifles. One of them is seen with a Mauser Carbine from World War Two,
even though it's 1918. Some rifles are the long type configuration,
which means it's a captured rifle from a previous battle.

Factual: A
lot of the US Army
soldiers are wearing rucksacks on their backs. The rucksack is the
correct design for the time period, but the meat can pouch is wrong
because World War One US Army meat can pouches had a small snap on it,
the ones in the film had a strap. The strap release type wasn't made
until World War Two.
