This historical movie is based on the non-fictional book A Most Dangerous Method, by John Kerr. The story is about the early days of psychoanalysis and it centers on the relationship between Carl Jung, being played by Michael Fassbender, and his mentor Sigmund Freud,  played by Viggo Mortensen, and the unbalanced young woman, Sabina Spielrein played, that comes between them.

The story is loosely based on the Philip K. Dick short story,  Adjustment Team, and follows an affair between a politician, played by Matt Damon, and a ballerina, played by Emily Blunt. But the lovers are being kept apart by mysterious forces. If they remain together the effects of this decision will not only change their destinies but will also alter the future of human history.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn (2011)

Based on the series of books The Adventures of Tintin by Herge, the plot of the movie combines the stories of The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham's Treasure. Tintin, played by Jamie Bell, discovers directions to a sunken ship with a treasure commanded by the ancestor of his friend, Captain Haddock, played by Andy Serkis. Together they set out to find the treasure.

This is the fourth installment of the Twilight Saga book series by Stephenie Meyer. In this installment Bella, played by Kristen Steward, and Edward, played by Robert Pattinson, finally get married. The day after their wedding Bella becomes pregnant which threatens the life of Bella and the baby. After a nearly fatal childbirth, Bella and Edward are graced with a daughter, Renesmee. The birth of their daughter sets in motion a perilous chain of events which pits the Cullens and their allies against the Volturi.

Superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America which is set during World War II. After being deemed physically unfit for U.S. military service, Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans, volunteers for a top secret military program. After undergoing a series of experiments Rogers is physically transformed into a super-soldier. During the transformation process the professor in charge of the project is killed by a Nazi spy, taking part of the super-solider formula with him in death making it impossible to recreate the experiment. Later, when a Nazi plot reveals itself, Rogers must rise up and and become the First Avenger in order to save his country and he becomes Captain America.

This is a film adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy Coriolanus. The story of the movie is based on the banished hero of Rome, Coriolanus, played by Ralph Fiennes, who allies with his sworn enemy Tullus Aufidius, played by Gerard Butler, to take his revenge on the city of Rome. This movie marks Ralph Fiennes's directorial debut.

The movie is based on the 2006 graphic novel of the same name created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg. The story is set in the Old West of 1873 Arizona, where a loner named named Jake Lonergan, played by Daniel Craig, awakens with no memory of his past and a mysterious shackle around his wrist, stumbles into the town of Absolution. Here he discovers that he is a criminal wanted by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde, played by Harrison Ford. However, soon the people of Absolution face an even greater threat when an alien spaceship attacks the town. Lonergan’s mysterious shackle holds the key to defeating the aliens and he forms an ally with Dolarhyde and other former enemies to prepare of an epic stand against the aliens.

Based on the novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings about a land baron, Matt King, played by George Clooney, who’s wife slips into a coma after a boating accident and during this period he discovers that his wife has been having an affair with a young real estate broker, Brian Speer, played by Matthew Lillard. After finding out about the affair, Matt then decides to take his daughters on a trip from Oahu to Kauai to confront Speers.

Adapted from James Sallis's novel of the same name. The movie is about a Hollywood stunt performer, a character with no name but just referred to as Driver, played by Ryan Gosling, who during the day works in movies while at night he drives the getaway car in criminal activities. The Driver becomes involved with his neighbor, Irene, played by Carey Mulligan, and her young son, Benicio. When Irene's husband, Standard, returns from prison, Driver offers to help him rob a pawn shop in order to protect Irene and Benicio. But it all goes badly wrong when Standard gets killed and Driver tries to find a way to protect Irene and Benicio.

This is an adaptation from Rosemary Sutcliff's historical adventure novel, The Eagle of the Ninth. The story is based on the Ninth Spanish Legion's unexplained disappearance in Britain and is set in 140AD. A young Roman officer, Marcus Aquila played by, Channing Tatum, accompanied by his British slave Esca, played by Jamie Bell, set out to solve the mystery by searching to recover the lost Roman eagle standard and to restore the reputation of Marcus’s father, who was the commander of the Ninth.

Basic premise is that disgraced journalist, Mikael Blomkvist, played by Daniel Craig, is hired by an aging and reclusive member of the vast Vanger family to write their family history, but to also secretly investigate the disappearance of the old man’s niece almost 40 years earlier. Blomkvist's investigation is being aided by the mysterious and troubled computer hacker, Lisbeth Salander, played by Rooney Mara. The two uncover a dark world of brutality, deception and ritualistic murder.

The Help is an adaptation of author, Kathryn Stockett’s novel of the same name. Story is set in Mississippi during the 1960's and revolves around Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, play by Emma Stone, a young white woman who has recently moved back home after graduating from college to find her childhood maid is no longer at her family home. Aibileen Clark, played by Viola Davis, is a middle-aged African-American maid who has spent her life raising white children and has recently lost her only son. And Minny Jackson, played by Octavia Spencer, is an African-American maid who has often talked back to her employers, leading to being fired multiple times and causing her to have difficulty finding work. These three stories come together when Skeeter, determined to become writer, decides to interview black women who have spent their lives taking care of white southern families.

Directed by Martin Scorsese, the movie is based on Brian Selznick's novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret. The story is set in 1930s Paris and is about Hugo Cabret, played by Asa Butterfiled, an orphan boy who lives in the walls of the Paris train station. Hugo gets wrapped up in a mystery involving his father when he encounters a broken automaton and an eccentric girl, played by Chloe Moretz.

Based on the novel of the same name written by Jobie Hughes and James Frey, John Smith, played by Alex Pettyfer, is an alien from planet Lorien who was sent to Earth as a child alongside eight others to escape an invading race, the Mogadorians, which destroyed their home planet. When the Mogadorains learn of these nine children coming to earth, they come to earth to kill them. Loriens can only be killed in a particular sequence and when three Loriens are killed, John becomes number four. He is forced to go on the run living as a fugitive, changing his identity, moving from town to town with his guardian Henri, played by Timothy Olyphant.

Charlotte Bronte’s classic novel has been adapted many times and this new version is being breathed into life with Jane Eyre being played by Mia Wasikowska and, Mr Rochester by Michael Fassbender. After a miserable childhood of being abused and neglected, Jane Eyre grows up to become a teacher. She accepts a governess position at Thornfield Hall and soon finds herself falling in love with the brooding, mysterious and passionate master, Mr. Rochester. When a dark secret from Rochester's past is revealed Jane flees Thornfield and becomes penniless and destitute. Jane finds shelter and friendship in a clergyman with two sisters. Soon secrets from her own past are revealed and she must then decide to either follow her heart or lose her love forever.
