Psychological thriller written and directed by Olivier Assayas in which the story follows Maureen (Kristen Stewart), a professional shopper to the stars living in Paris, who is also a spiritual medium.
After her twin brother passes away, she haunts his Paris home, determined to make contact with him. She then starts to receive messages from him beyond the grave, or at least that’s what she thinks. The two promised each other that whoever died first would send each other a sign.
Best Quotes from Trailer:
Maureen: I’m a personal shopper. I hate this job actually, I spend my days doing bullshit that doesn’t interest me and it keeps me from what does. It’s driving me fucking crazy.
Gary: You should come here.
Maureen: I need to go back to Louis’s house.
[walking around her dead brother’s house in the dark]
Maureen: Give me the tiniest thing. Come on.
Ingo: What are you doing in Paris?
Maureen: I’m waiting. My twin brother died here. We made this oath, whoever died first would send the other a sign.
Ingo: A sign? From the afterlife. But how will you know if it’s a sign?
Maureen: Louis, are you here?
[turning off the running water in her brother’s bathroom]
Maureen: I need more from you.
Gary: [to Maureen] But you also have to free yourself of Louis.
Louis: After death there’s nothing.
Gary: He’s here.
Maureen: Louis, is it just you, or is it just me?
