Starring:  Ralph Ineson, Anya Taylor Joy, Kate Dickie, Harvey Scrimshaw, Ellie Grainger, Lucas Dawson

Story: Horror written and directed by Robert Eggers, set in New England, 1630 and the story follows William and Katherine (Ralph Ineson and Kate Dickie) that lead a devout Christian life who after getting cast out of their colonial plantation are forced to survive living along the edge of a vast wilderness rumored to be controlled by witches.

When one of their five children goes missing and their life-sustaining crops fail, they fall victim to paranoia and fear as they begin to turn on one another. The decimation of their family unit creates an opportunity for incredible evil to emerge and attempt to destroy them all.

Verdict: Great slow burner psychological horror which is disturbing, nerve-wracking and gives just the right amount of suspense. The film delivers on the acting, how authentic it looks with some incredibly creepy and unsettling moments.
