Jared Eamons: [to his parents] I broke up with Chloe because, God help me, because I think it’s true, about me.

Marshall Eamons: Jared, I want you to do well. I want you to have a great life. I love you, but we cannot see a way that we can live under this roof if you fundamentally go against the grain of our beliefs. Jared, tell me the truth, that’s all.
Jared Eamons: I think about men. I don’t know why, and I’m so sorry.

Marshall Eamons: [to Jared] As far as I can tell, you’ve only got one God-given right, that is when a man and a woman come together, they mate and create life.

Marshall Eamons: [to Jared] Your mother and I, we cannot see a way that you can live under this roof if you’re going to fundamentally go against God.

Dr. Muldoon: [to Jared] Your parents signed you up for a program to fix you. But, Jared, you are a perfectly normal very healthy teenage boy.

Dr. Muldoon: [to Jared] Whatever happens next, it is still your choice.

Nancy Eamons: [to Jared] They’re going to do things for you.

Jared Eamons: [to Nancy] You want to say our goodbyes?

Victor Sykes: Welcome to the Refuge Program.

Victor Sykes: You cannot be born a homosexual. This is a lie, it’s a choice.

Victor Sykes: It’s a choice. You cannot be born gay.

[to the program attendees]
Brandon: Fake it till you make it. Become the man you are not. Save yourself.

Victor Sykes: Jared, God will not love you the way that you are.

Victor Sykes: [to Jared] I don’t know if college is the best thing for you. A year with us is maybe a much better use of your time.

Reverend Neil: Is this what you want? Who’s going to strike this demon out? Hit him!

Jared Eamons: I imagine that God and the devil are having a bet over me.
Gary: Do you believe in the devil? Then you’re look like me.

Jared Eamons: I’m having a tough time.
Gary: Let me give you some advice. Tell them whatever they want to hear. Play the part, unless you really think you’ve been changed, or even want to.

Gary: [to Jared] You may have to walk away from everything, everyone.

Victor Sykes: What you’re going through right now is just a moment.
Jared Eamons: A moment.
Victor Sykes: Yeah.
Jared Eamons: A moment?!

Nancy Eamons: [to Jared] I love God, and I love my son. For your father, it’s a little more complicated.

Marshall Eamons: We are not finished!
Jared Eamons: I am, because you won’t listen.

Victor Sykes: Your father’s sitting here, telling him how you hate him.
Jared Eamons: I’m not going to pretend I hate my father! I don’t hate my father!
Victor Sykes: Then where is all this anger coming from?
Jared Eamons: Because you’re making me angry!

Victor Sykes: Just sit. Where is all this anger coming from?
Jared Eamons: Because you’re making me angry!
Victor Sykes: Hey!
Jared Eamons: You’re all crazy!

Nancy Eamons: They say sometimes you got to hurt a child in order to help them, but a mother knows when something isn’t right.

Jared Eamons: I don’t want to pretend anymore.
Marshall Eamons: I have to ask myself, and God, if I’m ready to lose you.

Marshall Eamons: [to Jared] With my beliefs, I may have set myself up to lose you, and I have to ask myself, if I’m ready for that.

Victor Sykes: You’re going to ruin that child.
Nancy Eamons: What are your actual qualifications, Mr. Sykes?

Nancy Eamons: [to Sykes] Shame on you!
