Marvel’s superhero action sci-fi, direct and co-written by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Set in the mid-1990s, the story follows Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy’s mightiest heroes and joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with new questions about her past and identity when the Earth is caught in the center of an intergalactic conflict between two alien races.
Maria Rambeau: Thought we’d show these boys how we do it. You ready?
Carol Danvers: Higher, further, faster, baby.
Maria Rambeau: That’s right.
Kree Scientist: [to Danvers] Your life began the day it nearly ended. We found you with no memory. We made you one of us, so you could live longer, stronger, superior. You were reborn.
[as they are following Danvers who is fighting with a man on top of a moving train]
Coulson: The train’s heading for a tunnel up ahead.
Nick Fury: Let’s greet them at the station.
Nick Fury: Grunge is a good look for you.
Carol Danvers: Did you have a rough day, Agent Fury?
Nick Fury: I’m going to need clarification on this space invasion.
Carol Danvers: Skrulls are infiltrating your planet. They’re shapeshifters.
Nick Fury: Okay, prove that you’re not a Skrull.
[she uses her powers to blast the jukebox player]
Carol Danvers: That’s a photon blast.
Nick Fury: And?
Carol Danvers: A Skrull cannot do that.
Nick Fury: I’m just supposed to take your word for that.
Nick Fury: [to Danvers] War is a universal language. I know a renegade soldier when I see one. It never occurred to me that one might come from above.
Nick Fury: [to Danvers] Space invasion, a big car chase. Truth be told, I was ready to hang it up until I met you today.
Nick Fury: So you’re not from around here.
Carol Danvers: It’s hard to explain.
Carol Danvers: I keep having these memories. I see flashes. I think I had a life here, but I can’t tell if it’s real.
Carol Danvers: Something in my past is the key to all of this.
Nick Fury: So Skrulls are the bad guys, and you’re a Kree, a race of noble warriors.
Carol Danvers: Heroes. Noble warrior heroes.
Nick Fury: So you have superhuman strength, and you can shoot lasers from your hand. Is there anything I’m missing?
Carol Danvers: Congratulations, Agent Fury. You have finally asked a relevant question. Watch this.
Nick Fury: We have no idea what threats are out there. We can’t do this alone. We need you.
Carol Danvers: I’m not what you think I am.
Carol Danvers: I have this power, but I don’t know where it came from.
Nick Fury: You know how to fly this thing?
Carol Danvers: We’ll see.
Nick Fury: That’s a “yes” or a “no” question.
Carol Danvers: Yes.
Talos: [to Danvers] Would you like to learn what you really are?
Carol Danvers: What aren’t you telling me?
Mar-Vell: We are Kree, strong, united.
[as she’s fight training with Mar-Vell]
Mar-Vell: You have to let go of the past.
Carol Danvers: I don’t remember my past.
[he flips her over, Danvers gets angry]
Mar-Vell: Control it.
Mar-Vell: [to Danvers] You’ve come a long way, but you’re not as strong as you think.
Talos: This war is just the beginning.
Carol Danvers: I’m not going to fight your war. I’m going to end it.
[petting Danvers cat]
Nick Fury: Aren’t you the cutest little thing! Aren’t you cute. And what’s your name?
Carol Danvers: Fury.
Nick Fury: Hm?
[she indicates they need to go]
Nick Fury: [to the cat] I’ll be back.
Nick Fury: I’ve never seen anything like her.
Coulson: You think you can find others?
Nick Fury: She’s just the beginning.
[referring to the logo on the baseball hat]
Carol Danvers: What is this?
Nick Fury: It’s a SHIELD logo.
Carol Danvers: Does announcing your identity on clothing help with the covert part of your job?
Nick Fury: [sarcastically] Said the space soldier who was wearing a rubber suit.
Carol Danvers: Try to keep up.
[in her new suit]
Carol Danvers: How do I look?
Carol Danvers: I’m kind of done with you telling me what I can’t do.
