Superhero horror-thriller sequel written, co-produced and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. The story follows security guard David Dunn (Bruce Willis) who uses his abilities to track Kevin Wendell Crumb (James McAvoy), aka The Beast, a disturbed man who has 24 personalities, in a series of escalating encounters while the shadowy presence of Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson), aka Mr. Glass, emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.
Mrs. Price: Elijah has changed over the years. He’s given up.
Dr. Ellie Staple: We keep him heavily sedated, but there is a reason for that.
Mrs. Price: He’s too smart for them.
Pierce: [to Elijah] You won’t be lonely anymore. You have two new friends.
[to David, Elijah and Kevin]
Dr. Ellie Staple: It’s amazing to meet you. It is simply extraordinary. Maybe this will all make sense if I explain who I am. My name is Dr. Ellie Staple, and I’m a psychiatrist. My work concerns a particular type of delusion of grandeur. It’s a growing field. I specialize in those individuals who believe they are superheroes.
[Kevin chuckles and does a mocking clap]
Kevin Wendell Crumb: Good for you.
Dr. Ellie Staple: The three of you have convinced yourselves you have extraordinary gifts, like something out of a comic book.
David Dunn: [to Ellie] So you’re not going to shake my hand and let me walk out of here.
Woman: What do you do?
David Dunn: I’m in security.
Dr. Ellie Staple: David Dunn. The only person to survive that train wreck all those years ago. You think you have superpowers.
David Dunn: It’s a feeling. A vision. I have to touch them.
Dr. Ellie Staple: You believe you are a protector.
Dr. Ellie Staple: I’ve developed an effective treatment for this disorder. The light will force a different identity to take over.
Kevin Wendell Crumb: My name is Patricia.
Kevin Wendell Crumb: I’m Mary Reynolds.
Kevin Wendell Crumb: Por favor, senora.
Kevin Wendell Crumb: We almost got you, bro.
[to the cheerleaders he’s kidnapped and tied up]
Kevin Wendell Crumb: The Beast is coming any minute now for you guys.
[to the girls he’s kidnapped and tied up]
Kevin Wendell Crumb: Now, who’d like a PB and J sandwich?
Dr. Ellie Staple: [to Kevin] I have no question there are two dozen identities that live in that body with you. But what I am questioning is your belief that you are something more than human.
Elijah Price: And yet it is true.
Elijah Price: My bones break easily. I’ve had ninety-four breaks in my life.
Dr. Ellie Staple: But you have an extraordinary IQ.
Elijah Price: This is not a cartoon. This is the real world. And yet some of us still don’t die with bullets. Some of us can still bend steel. I’ve been waiting for the world to see that we exist.
[when he sees Casey visiting him]
Kevin Wendell Crumb: No way.
Kevin Wendell Crumb: What do you want?
Elijah Price: I am here to see if tales of the extraordinary being are true. May I meet The Beast?
Kevin Wendell Crumb: I hope for your sake that he likes you.
Elijah Price: That sounds like the bad guys teaming up.
Elijah Price: [to Kevin] I need your abilities to get us all out of here and show the world we exist.
Elijah Price: Do you believe you are an avenging angel, partner?
Kevin Wendell Crumb: I believe.
Elijah Price: Avenge us.
David Dunn: I have to get out of here before he gets out.
Dr. Ellie Staple: They are contained.
Mrs. Price: They always undermine the mastermind.
Elijah Price: It has begun, David. I found someone who will require your full potential. You shouldn’t be hiding in the shadows. You might want to try and stop us. A lot of people are going to die. Are you ready?
David Dunn: Don’t do this.
Elijah Price: Finally, all of us together, for the world to see what we are capable of.
Kevin Wendell Crumb: What do we call you, sir?
Elijah Price: First name, Mister, last name, Glass.
Dr. Ellie Staple: We are not meant to have this much power.
Dr. Ellie Staple: What have you done, Elijah?
