Horror slasher sequel written and directed by Christopher B. Landon. The story follows Tree Gelbman (Jessica Rothe), who unexpectedly re-enters the time loop and becomes determined to escape it after finding out her friends are now involved. When she discovers that Lori Spengler (Ruby Modine), the original killer, has been murdered, Tree must face the new killer in order to uncover his or her identity and break free of the time loop once and for all.
[Ryan enters the room as Tree and Carter are about to kiss]
Ryan Phan: Dude.
Carter Davis: Out.
Ryan Phan: I am tripping right now. I just like totally lived through this day already.
Tree Gelbman: Déjà vu?
Ryan Phan: Yes.
Tree Gelbman: The day reset when you died, right?
Ryan Phan: Yeah.
Tree Gelbman: I might be able to help with that. I died eleven times.
Tree Gelbman: I was stuck living the same day over and over again, until someone wearing a baby mask murdered me on the night of my birthday. It turns out, it was my roommate, Lori. I kicked her crazy ass out a window and killed her, which broke the loop. But now I’m living the better version of my life.
Carter Davis: Are you okay?
Tree Gelbman: No.
[Tree wakes up in Carter’s room with 50 Cents ‘In da Club’ playing]
Carter Davis: Oh, hey. You’re up. I folded your pants for you.
[Tree checks her phone to see what date is]
Tree Gelbman: No way!
[Ryan walks in the room]
Ryan Phan: Dude, did you get that…
Tree Gelbman: I don’t believe this! It’s Monday the 18th again! Aaah!
Tree Gelbman: I thought I ended the loop, but I’m back.
Tree Gelbman: Oh, my God. Everything is different. This time it’s coming after all of us.
Carter Davis: [to Tree] If you don’t reset the day and try again, they’re dead for good, aren’t they?
Tree Gelbman: So I’m going to have to die over and over again to save all of you?
Samar Ghosh: I mean I guess you could just reset the day yourself.
Tree Gelbman: [sarcastically] Genius idea.
Tree Gelbman: If I don’t stop the killer, more people will die. Failure is not an option. I’m literally dying to figure this out.
[Tree wakes up in Carter’s room again on her birthday]
Carter Davis: Oh, hey. You’re up.
Tree Gelbman: I’m so done with this shit.
Tree Gelbman: I’m on borrowed time here.
Danielle Bouseman: We’re in crisis mode, Tree. Who’s going to pledge Capa now that we have a death curse?
