Story:

Thriller directed and co-written by Anthony Maras based on a true event. The story recounts the 2008 siege of the famed Taj Hotel by a group of terrorists in Mumbai, India. Among the dedicated hotel staff is the renowned chef Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher) and a waiter, Arjun (Dev Patel), who choose to risk their lives to protect their guests. As the world watches on, a desperate couple, David and Zahra (Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi), are forced to make unthinkable sacrifices to protect their newborn child.

[to the hotel receptionist]
Eddie: Look, I don’t think you understand. There’s been an attack and we’re not safe.


 

[as he sees the terrorists shooting in the hotel reception]
Arjun: Switch off the lights. Under the tables!


 

Hemant Oberoi: [to his staff] We should try to gather whoever we can. Many of you have families at home. There is no shame in leaving.
Butler Jamon: I have been here thirty-five years. This is my home.


 

Vasili: We don’t know how many there are, where they are.


 

[hearing knocking on the door; Oberoi is about to unlock the door when Arjun calls him]
Arjun: Don’t open the door, it’s them!
[he turns to the others]
Hemant Oberoi: Out!


 

David: My kid is upstairs. Do you have a family?
Arjun: Yes, and I need to stay alive and see them.


 

Zahra: No one is coming for us!


 

Hemant Oberoi: We go down the back stairs and straight out the service exit. If they hear us, we all die.
Vasili: We take our chances.


 

Hotel Guest: I’m scared.
Arjun: We all are. But to get through this we must stick together.
