True crime drama directed by Ridley Scott based on the book “Painfully Rich: The Outrageous Fortunes and Misfortunes of the Heirs of J. Paul Getty” by John Pearson. The story follows the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) and his billionaire grandfather’s, J. Paul Getty Sr. (Kevin Spacey), refusal to pay the ransom. His mother, Gail (Michelle Williams), forms an alliance with Getty Sr.’s advisor, Fletcher Chase (Mark Wahlberg), in a race against time to sway him to pay the captors and free her son. The cast also includes Romain Duris and Timothy Hutton.

Alone in Berlin (2017)

War drama based on the fictionalized novel of the same name by Hans Fallada. The story is set in Berlin, 1940, and centers on working class couple Otto and Anna Quangel (Brendan Gleeson and Emma Thompson) who receive the news that their only son has lost his life in the battlefield and decide to resist the Nazi regime in their very own way. They begin pouring their rage and grief into postcards emblazoned with anti-Nazi slogans, risking everything to disseminate their messages of protest across the city. But this seemingly small act of subversion rattles the regime, including a police inspector, Escherich (Daniel Brühl) who will not rest until the culprits have been caught.

Action thriller based on the novel of the same name by Vince Flynn. The story centers on black ops recruit Mitch Rapp (Dylan O’Brien) who after suffering the death of his fiancée in a terrorist attack is then assigned to shadowy CIA figure Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton) to receive special training in tracking terrorists. The two are then enlisted by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan) to join a Turkish agent on a mission to stop a mysterious operative from unleashing chaos of international proportions. The Beguiled (2017)

Period drama based on the novel “A Painted Devil” by Thomas P. Cullinan. The movie is directed and written by Sofia Coppola in which the story is set in a Confederate girls’ boarding school during the Civil War. After the girls take in and give shelter to an injured Union soldier, John McBurney (Colin Farrell), he cons his way into each of the lonely women’s hearts, causing them to turn on each other, and eventually, on him. The cast also includes Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning and Oona Laurence.

The Dark Tower (2017)

The Dinner (2017)
