Spectre is directed by Sam Mendes and stars Daniel Craig as James Bond, this is the latest Bond film. It also stars Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista.
In this movie, Bond receives a message from someone very close to him this leads to a massive conspiracy surrounding the group ‘Spectre’ which is led by Christoph Waltz character Oberhauser. Upon investigating Spectre he uncovers very personal discoveries about his past.
I had a brilliant time with this movie, it is a very captivating action movie. It has tons of terrific fight scenes and shoot outs, Spectre is considerably more action driven than the previous Bond films starring Daniel Craig.
Speaking of Daniel Craig, he is once again incredible in this movie. Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz and Naomie Harris all give fantastic performances. Bautista has minimal dialogue and he does very well with what he’s given, this leads to one of the best fight scenes ever, the train fight.
This movie does have problems with the script, there is a sub-plot which completely halts the movie. C is a new character who wants to bring MI5 into a new era with technology, he is trying to get rid of the 007 programme as he believes it’s ancient. Also, there wasn’t much character development with the villain, Oberhauser, he isn’t in the film enough but the introduction to his character was fantastic, it was suspenseful and it was masterfully shot as well as the rest of the film.
My issues with this movie are entirely within the script. However, this is an extremely fun James Bond movie as well as a really good James Bond movie. The action scenes are incredible, wonderfully directed and well shot.
Rating: I’m gonna give Spectre an A-
