Lady Sarah: [to Anne] Dearest Queen, how goes the kingdom?
[to one of her servants]
Queen Anne: Did you just look at me?
[the servant nervously shakes his head]
Queen Anne: How dare you! Close your eyes!
Queen Anne: I am the Queen.
Lady Sarah: [to Anne] But you are mad.
Lady Sarah: [to Anne] You look like a badger.
Queen Anne: We went with something dramatic.
Queen Anne: I’ve sent for some lobsters. I thought we could race them and eat them.
Lady Sarah: Your majesty.
Queen Anne: I’d like to enjoy the music now.
Robert Harley: This is madness.
Lady Sarah: Sometimes a lady likes to have some fun.
[referring to the miniature palace]
Lady Sarah: Queen, you are mad. Giving me a palace. This is a monstrous extravagance. Mrs. Molly, we are at war.
Queen Anne: We won.
Lady Sarah: Oh, it is not over. We must continue.
Queen Anne: Oh. Well, I did not know that.
Lady Sarah: The queen is an extraordinary person. She’s been stalked by tragedy.
Queen Anne: They were all staring, weren’t they? I can tell even if I can’t see, and I heard the word fat. Fat.
Lady Sarah: And…
Queen Anne: And ugly.
Lady Sarah: No one but me would dare, and I did not.
Queen Anne: Everyone leaves me and dies.
Abigail: I apologize for my appearance. I hope I might be employed here by you as something.
Lady Sarah: A monster for the children to play with perhaps.
Harley: [to Abigail] It is important to make new friends in court, is it not?
Harley: [to Abigail] Favor is a breeze that shifts direction all the time. Then in an instant you’re back to sleeping with a bunch of scabrous whores.
Abigail: You’re so beautiful.
Queen Anne: Stop it. You mock me.
Abigail: If I were a man I would ravish you.
Lady Sarah: You have become close to Abigail. She is a viper.
Queen Anne: You’re jealous.
Lady Sarah: You must send Abigail away.
Queen Anne: I do not want to.
Lady Sarah: Let’s shoot something.
[she shoots towards Abigail]
Lady Sarah: Sometimes it’s hard to remember whether you’ve loaded a pellet or not.
Abigail: I must take control of my circumstance. I’m on my side, always. As it turns out I’m capable of much unpleasantness.
Masham: I should have you stripped and whipped.
Abigail: I’m waiting.
Abigail: I could not just stand by and let you destroy me.
Lady Sarah: You are enjoying all of this, aren’t you?
Queen Anne: Well, it is fun to be queen sometimes.
Lady Sarah: [to Abigail] If you do not go I will start kicking you, and I will not stop.
Abigail: My good friend, how good to see you’ve returned from…
Lady Sarah: Hell. I’m sure you shall pass through it one day.
