Headmistress: [to Alex] It’s a tough world out there, and it’s getting tougher all the time. And the world is not going to change, it’s you that has to change.
Alex: Something amazing happened. You have to see what I found.
[he shows Bedders the sword]
Alex: There’s something written on the guard. Put it into Google Translate.
Bedders: It means Sword of Arthur. What if it’s the Sword in the Stone?
[they both start to laugh]
Merlin: Alexander Elliot, it was you who drew the sword! This realm faces mortal danger!
Merlin: There are four days until the solar eclipse, when Morgana will enter the world of the living.
Alex: Am I supposed to stop her? That’s ridiculous, I’m twelve.
Alex: I thought Merlin was supposed to be an old man. You look about sixteen.
Merlin: An ingenious alias in order to monitor you in cognito.
Merlin: [to Alex] You will need to assemble a team of knights.
Alex: Arthur’s knights gathered at a round table so that they were all equal, and look…
[they all look down at the dinner table, which is rectangular]
Alex: Quick, Bedders, lift up the flaps.
[they lift the flaps of the dinner table, which makes it a round table]
Kaye: Oh, my God, you’re such a nerd.
Alex: This is destiny.
Bedders: [to Alex] This is the worst and best, the most terrible excellent thing that’s ever happened to me.
Bedders: Where did you learn how to drive?
Kaye: Mario Kart.
[filling up the bathtub with water]
Alex: Mum, don’t freak out, okay? The Lad of the Lake, please return Excalibur.
[suddenly a hand shoots out of the water holding the sword]
Alex: The five of us won’t stand a chance on our own. We need to raise an army.
[to the children at his school]
Alex: Who will join us?
[no one responds]
Merlin: How humiliating.
Headmistress: This is instead of lessons today.
[all the children cheer]
