Superhero sequel written and directed by Simon Kinberg. The story follows the X-Men as they face their most formidable and powerful foe, one of their own, Jean Grey (Sophie Turner). When a solar flare hits the X-Men during a rescue mission in space, Jean Grey is nearly killed. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable.
Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite, not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.
Young Jean Grey: You think you can fix me.
Professor Charles Xavier: Jean, you are not broken.
Professor Charles Xavier: The mind is a fragile thing. It takes only the slightest to tip in the wrong direction.
Raven: Charles, what did you do?
Professor Charles Xavier: I had to keep her stable. I protected her.
Raven: From the truth? There’s another word for that.
Jean Grey: [to Erik] I came looking for answers.
Smith: [to Jean] You feel like you don’t belong here. You don’t. They can’t begin to comprehend what you are.
[referring to Jean]
Professor Charles Xavier: She’s changing.
Raven: Into what?
Erik Lehnsherr: [to Jean] You didn’t come here looking for answers. You came here looking for permission.
Professor Charles Xavier: She’s all rage, pain, and it’s all coming out of us.
Scott Summers: Jean lost control, but she’s still our friend.
Hank McCoy: This is your fault, Charles.
Erik Lehnsherr: The world is on the brink.
Professor Charles Xavier: I’m sorry I didn’t stop it sooner.
Erik Lehnsherr: You’re always sorry, Charles. And there’s always a speech, and nobody cares.
Professor Charles Xavier: There’s still hope. Don’t do this.
Jean Grey: They’re right to fear me.
Erik Lehnsherr: I’ve seen evil, and I’m looking at it now.
