Malorie: Well, rough. Then again, I never slept well before in this condition.
Dr. Lapham: It’s called pregnancy. It’s okay to say it out loud.
Malorie: Something’s happened. Can you please drive?
Jessica: Did you see something?
[as she’s driving she sees something]
Jessica: Oh, my God.
Malorie: What are you looking at? What did you see? What is wrong with you?
[Jessica starts driving erratically]
Malorie: Please, stop it!
[suddenly the car flips over]
[referring to Jessica]
Malorie: We were just driving, and then she saw something.
Malorie: What’s going on?
Charlie: People describe seeing an entity that takes on the form of your worst fears.
Charlie: This ain’t no virus or a chemical attack. It was real evil. If you see it, it takes on the form of your worst fears.
[to the children]
Tom: It’s story time. You know, when I was young we had a boat, and every single summer we would take it to the lake. And there was love. And there was family. And it was a wonderful time.
Tom: We can’t stay here.
Douglas: Every contact we have with the outside has brought us death!
Malorie: No one’s coming for us.
Tom: Your kids, they deserve hope.
Malorie: Every single decision I have made has been for them.
[on the walkie talkie]
Man: Is anyone there?
Man: We have a place. It’s safe here. The fastest way to get here is by the river. The birds will warn you whenever those things are around.
Tom: You take this and you go.
Malorie: I’m not leaving you.
[to the children]
Malorie: Listen to me, we’re going on a trip now, it’s going to be rough. If you hear something in the woods, you tell me. if you hear something in the water, you tell me. But under no circumstances are you allowed to take off your blindfold.
Boy: Do you hear that?
Girl: The creatures.
[waking up in the woods blindfolded]
Malorie: Please don’t take my children!
