Best Quotes
Melina: [to young Yelena] You’re a brave girl. Your pain only makes you stronger.
Young Yelena: [to a wounded Melina] Get up, mommy. Pain only makes you stronger, remember?
Dreykov: The Red Guardian returns.
Alexei: The Red Guardian returns triumphant. Please, please, I beg you. No more undercover work. I want to get back in the action. I want my suit back. I want to get back in it.
Young Natasha: [in Russian] Forgive me, mom. I’m scared.
Melina: Never let them take your heart.
Young Natasha: [referring to Yelena] I don’t want to go back there. I want to stay in Ohio. You can’t take her. You can’t. She’s only six.
Alexei: You were even younger.
Alexei: You’re going to be alright. Do you know why it’s going to be alright? Because my girls are the toughest girls in the world. You’re going to take care of each other, okay? And everything, everything’s going to be fine.
[we then see young Natasha and Yelena taken to the Red Room for training]
Natasha Romanoff: [over phone] Don’t do this.
Thaddeus Ross: Do what?
Natasha Romanoff: Come after me. I mean, you’re embarrassing yourself. It looks desperate.
Thaddeus Ross: Thought maybe you’d be calling me to cut a deal. Because from my vantage point, it’s the federal fugitive who’s desperate.
Natasha Romanoff: From my vantage point, you look like you could use some bed rest. What is this, your second triple bypass?
Thaddeus Ross: I wouldn’t worry about me.
Thaddeus Ross: We got Barton, we got Wilson, and that other guy, the incredible shrinking convict. Rogers is on the run. You got no friends. Where you going to go?
Natasha Romanoff: I’ve lived a lot of lives before I met you, Ross. You shouldn’t have gone to all this trouble. I’m done.
Natasha Romanoff: [referring to her new identity] Fanny Longbottom?
Mason: What?
Natasha Romanoff: What, are you twelve?
Mason: That is a legitimate name.
Mason: Are you okay?
Natasha Romanoff: Why wouldn’t I be?
Mason: I hear things. You know, something about the Avengers getting divorced.
Natasha Romanoff: It’s fine. I’m actually better on my own.
Mason: Are you sure?
Natasha Romanoff: Yeah.
Mason: Because you can tell me, you know. That’s the way the whole friends thing works.
Natasha Romanoff: I know. I have friends.
Mason: People who have friends don’t call me.
Natasha Romanoff: And I don’t pay you to worry.
Natasha Romanoff: [after encountering Taskmaster] You should know, I’m a better shot when I’m pi**ed off.
Yelena Belova: [as Natasha enters an apartment] I know you’re out there.
Natasha Romanoff: I know you know I’m out here.
Yelena Belova: Then why are you skulking about like it’s a minefield?
Natasha Romanoff: Because I don’t know if I can trust you.
Yelena Belova: Funny, I was going to say the same thing.
Natasha Romanoff: So, we going to talk like grown ups?
[they face each other with their guns pointed at each other]
Yelena Belova: Is that what we are?
Natasha Romanoff: [in Russian] You’ve grown up.
Yelena Belova: [in Russian] No s**t.
Natasha Romanoff: You had to come to Budapest, didn’t you?
Yelena Belova: I came here because I thought you wouldn’t.
Yelena Belova: [referring to the Red Dust] Why don’t you take it to one of your super-scientist friends? They can explain it to you. Tony Stark, maybe?
Natasha Romanoff: Oh, yeah. We’re not really talking right now, so.
Yelena Belova: Great. Perfect timing. Where’s an Avenger when you need one?
Natasha Romanoff: I don’t want to be here. I’m on the run. You could’ve gotten me killed.
Yelena Belova: Well, what was I supposed to do? You’re the only superhero person that I know. That was the whole reason I sent it to you.
Yelena Belova: I kept checking the news, expecting to see Captain America bringing down the Red Room.
Natasha Romanoff: What? Taking down the Red Room? What are you talking about? It’s been gone for years. Dreykov’s dead. I killed him.
Yelena Belova: You don’t actually believe that, do you? You really do believe that.
Yelena Belova: If you’re so sure, then tell me what happened. Tell me exactly.
Natasha Romanoff: We rigged bombs.
Yelena Belova: Who’s “we”?
Natasha Romanoff: Clint Barton. Killing Dreykov was the final step in my defection to SHIELD.
Yelena Belova: Simple as that?
Natasha Romanoff: Yeah, sure, simple. That’s what I’d call imploding a five-story building, and then shooting it out with the Hungarian Special Forces.
Yelena Belova: [referring to the controlled Widows] Do you believe me now?
Natasha Romanoff: How many others?
Yelena Belova: Enough.
Natasha Romanoff: You can’t just steal a guy’s car.
Yelena Belova: So you want me to chase him down and unsteal it?
Yelena Belova: Okay, you got a plan, or shall I just stay, duck, and cover?
Natasha Romanoff: My plan was to drive us away!
Yelena Belova: That’s a s**t plan.
Natasha Romanoff: Put your seat belts on.
Yelena Belova: You’re such a mom.
Natasha Romanoff: You okay?
Yelena Belova: Yeah. Great plan. I love the part where I almost bled to death.
Natasha Romanoff: [referring to the Taskmaster] Who the hell is that guy?
Yelena Belova: Dreykov’s special project. He can mimic anyone he’s ever seen. It’s like fighting a mirror.
Natasha Romanoff: This doesn’t make any sense.
Yelena Belova: Well, the truth rarely makes sense when you omit key details.
Natasha Romanoff: What is that supposed to mean?
Yelena Belova: You didn’t say one word about Dreykov’s daughter. You killed her.
Natasha Romanoff: I had to. I needed her to lead me to Dreykov.
Natasha Romanoff: Dreykov’s daughter was collateral damage. I needed her to be sure.
Yelena Belova: And here you are, not so sure.
Natasha Romanoff: I needed out.
Natasha Romanoff: I’m just finding it hard to believe that he could stay off my radar.
Yelena Belova: Well, it’s not smart to attack an Avenger if you want to stay hidden. I mean, the clue is in the name. Dreykov kills you, one of the big ones comes to avenge you.
Natasha Romanoff: Wait, what are the big ones?
Yelena Belova: Well, I doubt the god from space has to take an ibuprofen after a fight.
