Best Quotes
Gerald Nussbaum: [referring to Leon] Hold on, Serra, I want to make sure I’m clear on this. The lynchpin, the key to your whole investigation is laying in a meat wagon with his brains smashed in?
Linda Amisted: Vincent saved lives, sir. The f***er was going out messy.
Gerald Nussbaum: I don’t care, Amistead. What I care about, is an eleven month investigation that has taken considerable resources on both sides of the border, is now well and truly f***ed.
Vincent Serra: Not necessarily.
Gerald Nussbaum: Don’t add insult to injury.
Mauricio: [to Alex] Life is good now. It’s calmer. More money, less blood.
Mauricio: Our friends got you something nice.
Alex Lewis: Mauri, you want someone else. I’m not up for it right now.
Mauricio: Get up for it. Job’s in El Paso. You’re from there, right?
Alex Lewis: Another reason to say no. I’m trying to tell you, I’m getting out.
Mauricio: Alex, I need you on this. You know the town.
Alex Lewis: It’s too much.
Mauricio: The job is for two. Don’t you have a brother in El Paso?
Alex Lewis: Mauri, are you spying on me?
Mauricio: It’s our job to know things, Alex. So stop talking this retirement s**t. Men like us don’t retire.
Maya: [as she sees him at the hotel bar] So, too early in the day for a glass of wine? Or too late for a Bloody Mary?
Alex Lewis: Guess that depends on what kind of day you want to have.
Maya: That’s up to you, isn’t it?
William Borden: Your people said this will be done quickly.
Alex Lewis: And it will.
William Borden: I’m going to need a little more specificity than that.
Alex Lewis: No, you won’t. The less you know, the better.
Alex Lewis: [holding a gun to Van Camp’s head] You know why I’m here!
Ellis Van Camp: It’s all a misunderstanding.
Alex Lewis: It’s always a misunderstanding.
Ellis Van Camp: Don’t do this! I didn’t say anything, alright? It wasn’t supposed to go this far.
Alex Lewis: If I’m here, it’s gone too far.
Nurse: [referring to Alex’s brother] Don’t expect too much. When the onset of Alzheimer’s is this sudden…
Alex Lewis: I know how it starts.
Hugo Marquez: It’s pretty obvious the appetite for big fish, ends at the border.
Gerald Nussbaum: I don’t like what you’re insinuating, Marquez.
Hugo Marquez: I don’t think I was insinuating anything. I was saying it pretty flat out.
Serena: [as Vincent drops off Beatriz at the group home] I saw the paperwork, is she a witness or victim?
Vincent Serra: Both.
Alex Lewis: [referring to Beatriz] She’s a child.
William Borden: And that’s a problem?
Alex Lewis: [referring to killing Beatriz] I won’t do it.
William Borden: Your people knew who the contract was for.
Alex Lewis: I f***ing won’t do it. Are you deaf?
Alex Lewis: [referring to Van Camp’s flash drive] You want this? Huh? You call the contract off.
William Borden: You really don’t know what you’re playing with.
Alex Lewis: Oh, yes, I do.
Alex Lewis: [to Borden] The girl stays alive. Or you’re answerable to me. A**hole.
William Borden: [over phone, referring to Alex] He knows.
Davana Sealman: That’s a bit vague.
William Borden: He knows my name, where I live. And he won’t do the job, and he’s got Van Camp’s flash drives.
Davana Sealman: You said he wasn’t going to be a problem.
William Borden: I’m going to call Mexico City.
Davana Sealman: That’s one solution. An obvious and unsubtle one.
Davana Sealman: [referring to Alex] What does he want?
William Borden: To have the contract on the girl called off. We do that, he turns over the info.
Davana Sealman: There’s something to be said for that.
William Borden: You can’t trust him.
Davana Sealman: I didn’t say I trusted him. I said, I see his point of view.
Alex Lewis: [after seeing on the news that Beatriz has been murdered] Was I here last night?
Maya: Yes. What’s wrong?
Alex Lewis: You sure?
Maya: Yes!
Mauricio: [after he’s sent to kill Alex, and ends up killing Maya] When did you go soft, Alex? They’ll end you for this.
Alex Lewis: Happy retirement, Maury!
[as Alex walks off, he sets off the car bomb that was meant for him, killing Mauricio]

Dr. Meyers: Goodness, you got the heart of a thirty-five year-old. At this rate, you’ll live to be a hundred and thirty.
Davana Sealman: I’ll give you five million to make it a hundred and thirty-five. If you said, “Yes,” I’d fire you.
Dr. Meyers: You know if I said yes, I’d want you to.
Hugo Marquez: [referring to Beatriz] Nobody gives a f*** about that girl, Vincent. Except you, me, and Linda. I can do things you and her can’t. You know? As a concerned citizen.
Vincent Serra: From Mexico?
Hugo Marquez: Okay, concerned Mexican citizen.
Vincent Serra: With questionable investigative authority in the United States.
Ellis Van Camp: [as Alex listens to Van Camp’s flash drive] You’ve left me no choice. I won’t be cut out. Look, this doesn’t have to be ugly.
Davana Sealman: Blackmail is already ugly. Mr. Van Camp! We are not negotiating. You’ve crossed a line from which there is no return.
Vincent Serra: That’s three people likely killed with the same weapon.
Gerald Nussbaum: Look, I get it, the girl. She’s under your skin. Maybe you’re a little obsessed.
Vincent Serra: I’m just doing my job.
Linda Amisted: Hugo thinks it’s a pro, settling scores. We think it could be a hitter from across the fence.
Gerald Nussbaum: But you can’t be sure.
Vincent Serra: We can’t, but if the ballistics match, and there really is a Mexican killer tearing a** through town, we might want to get ahead of that. And we’re going to need Marquez.
Gerald Nussbaum: Alright, do what you have to do.
Danny Mora: [referring to Alex’s pills] Lab just came back on those pills. Diffadyl. Alzheimer’s drug. Your shooter is loosing his s**t.
Randy Sealman: [to Davana] Borden’s dead. Someone executed him. And if he got to Borden, then he’s close.
Vincent Serra: [over phone] Trafficking, Vincent Serra.
Alex Lewis: You’re the one who took the girl to the group home. Weren’t you?
Vincent Serra: Who is this?
Alex Lewis: Marshall. David Marshall.
Vincent Serra: [to Linda] Tap and trace.
Vincent Serra: David Marshall burned up a car downtown. Is that your doing?
Alex Lewis: I can’t keep doing your job for you.
Alex Lewis: [over phone] You’re too slow to make them pay. They’re too rich.
Vincent Serra: Who’s too rich?
Alex Lewis: The lawyer, the client.
Vincent Serra: Who’s the client?
Alex Lewis: [over phone] I want to believe that you are a good man, Vincent. I’m the bad man. Have been for a long time. But they have to be punished. If I can’t finish this, you have to.
Linda Amisted: [referring to Alex] He’s f***ing with us.
Vincent Serra: He’s just telling us we’re way too slow.
