Our list of the best quotes from Disney+ MCU action adventure TV series Secret Invasion, which follows Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), the pseudo-leader of the Skrulls, as they try to stop the shapeshifting Skrulls, who have been infiltrating Earth for years.

1. Resurrection

Agent Prescod: Imagine a world where information can’t be trusted. Not very hard, is it? News service says one thing, website says another. Society starts to fray. All we can turn to are the people we care about. But what if those people weren’t who we thought they were? What if the ones closest to us, the ones we’ve trusted our whole lives were someone else entirely? What if they weren’t even human?
Agent Everett Ross: Agent Prescod, respectfully, what exactly are you talking about?
Agent Prescod: Chaos. And that’s only the beginning.

Agent Prescod: Five global terrorist strikes within the past year. Each one
claimed by a different group.
Agent Everett Ross: It’s business as usual.
Agent Prescod: That’s precisely what they want you to think.

'There is no shame in walking away when the steps are uncertain.' - Maria Hill (Secret Invasion) Share on X

Agent Everett Ross: So you think the same people are behind all of this?
Agent Prescod: Not people. Skrulls.

Agent Prescod: Look, can’t you see it? All these groups, they’re the same. Skrulls could be anybody, anywhere, at any time.

Maria Hill: What the hell are you doing here?
Talos: [referring to Ross] I’m chasing him.
Maria Hill: He was one of you.
Talos: No, he’s one of them.

Talos: We’ve been helping you for all these years to ensure that you kept your promise. But after The Blip, you were different. And then you disappeared. Carol Danvers disappeared. And so did G’iah.
Nick Fury: Hold it. Your daughter? Disappeared to Where?

Nick Fury: I’m going for a walk.
Talos: You’re going for a walk in Moscow at night? Well, you’re going to stand out.

Rhodey: [referring to Fury] We’ve just received word that he’s left SABER.
Ritson: What do you mean, “He left SABER?”
Rhodey: Well, I can try to think of a different word. Abandoned. Departed.

Sonya Falsworth: This is so exciting. Let’s see, large Black man, Moscow. Well, it could either be Nick Fury, or the ghost of Paul Robeson. Okay, go ahead. Take the hood off. Oh! Damn, and I was hoping for a command performance of Ol’ Man River.
Nick Fury: Good to see you too, Sonya.

Nick Fury: So, did you just have me extraordinarily renditioned by a group of your thugs?
Sonya Falsworth: Were you lot extraordinary? Oh! You usually only scratch the surface of mediocrity. You must be finally putting it all together. Well done.

Nick Fury: Do you have some sort of clock fetish that you’ve been keeping from me all these years?
Sonya Falsworth: It was an old English spymaster that started the tradition. A clock goes up when your time in circus is done. And I like to think I still have a few juggling acts left in me.

Nick Fury: I’m pretty sure you recollect my drink of choice as bourbon.
Sonya Falsworth: I might have welcomed you home, but I still haven’t forgiven you for destroying my very expensive flat.
Nick Fury: You mean city.
Sonya Falsworth: So it’s bottom shelf pi** for you or nothing at all.

Nick Fury: You know, I may not know when a Skrull is pretending to be a human, but I sure as hell know when a human is lying.

Sonya Falsworth: [to Fury] I think that Thanos’s snap changed you. Taught you that no matter how hard you fight for what’s right, there’s always someone stronger to undermine you.

Nick Fury: We used to work pretty well together back in the day.
Sonya Falsworth: Back in the day, you would’ve seen my rather mediocre bag men coming a mile away. The fact that you didn’t see them coming means you haven’t a hope in hell of seeing Gravik and his rebels coming. Which makes you as a partner rather pointless.

Sonya Falsworth: I mean this as a friend, Fury, but go back to your space station. You’re in no shape for this fight that lies before us.

Derrik: Send in a raid now.
Sonya Falsworth: If by “now” you mean, “Wait until a Skrull rebel picks up a device in order to follow them to their hideout,” then, yes, I totally agree.

Talos: [referring to Sonya] She’s cheeky.
Nick Fury: Yeah, till she sees an ugly-a** Skrull like you. Then she goes into hunting mode.
Talos: I’m considered good looking amongst my kind.
Nick Fury: Well, I know a bunch of good-looking Skrull. And you ain’t one of them.

Nick Fury: Talos, let me explain something to you. We’re no longer in “just a war” with Gravik. We are in a race with Sonya Falsworth, who celebrates a scorched-Earth policy, meaning, she will annihilate any and everyone who’s ever even heard the name “Gravik”. You want to save innocent Skrulls, you’re going to have to hurt some people.

Nick Fury: [to Talos] Look, Gravik knows that mercy’s your weakness. Time for you to prove him wrong.

Nick Fury: Not bad for a hundred and thirty-six year-old.
Talos: Well, you know, I’m not even forty in human years. I haven’t even gone on my midlife crisis shopping spree yet. Hey, what did you get for yours?
Nick Fury: The Avengers.

Talos: No, mate, we don’t want any of your s**tty paintings.
Poprischchin: Then exactly what do you want?
Nick Fury: Some damn good answers.

Poprischchin: That chair belonged to Louis XV. It’s priceless.
Nick Fury: Everything is priceless till it gets blown to bits in a hail of bullets.

Nick Fury: [referring to Poprischchin] Agent Keller, anything in our file about this one having a wife?
Talos: Yeah, has an ex-wife, lives in Miami with a soccer player.
Nick Fury: Oh, so we going to go ahead and call that a lie.

Nick Fury: Everybody gets one. Nobody gets two. So, last chance. Who are you going to meet?
Poprischchin: Perhaps we’d all be more comfortable in the gallery space where there is more natural light.
Nick Fury: Oh, you got any more of these comfortable-a** Louis XIV chairs in there?

Poprischchin: I’m sorry, I do not know this term. Dirty bomb?
Nick Fury: Boom, goes the dynamite! Lie number two. I just told you. Everybody gets one. Nobody gets two.
Poprischchin: You going to shoot me?
Nick Fury: Maybe. Well, probably. But not right now.

Maria Hill: Making friends with the locals?
Nick Fury: How do you think we kept the Cold War from going hot? Spooks like me buying shots.

Maria Hill: You going to tell me why you abandoned Earth?
Nick Fury: Well, building out SABER.
Maria Hill: Traditionally, we tell the truth during our chess games. Maybe that has changed too though. I don’t know.
Nick Fury: Okay, let’s just say I had a crisis of faith.

Maria Hill: Are you going to move?
Nick Fury: I haven’t decided.
Maria Hill: See, that’s what I’m worried about. The Fury I knew was always three steps ahead.
Nick Fury: If I remember correctly, you called me.
Maria Hill: On Talos’s request. Your lack of contact over the past few years sent a pretty clear message.
Nick Fury: Meaning?

Maria Hill: You’re not ready for this, Fury. There’s a very real threat out there. You were never the same after The Blip. You always told me there is no shame in walking away when the steps are uncertain. So check your footing. Otherwise, someone is going to get hurt.

Nick Fury: [after Hill is shot by Gravik] Maria!
Maria Hill: It was you.
Nick Fury: Not me.

2. Promises

Nick Fury: [1997 – flashback] My friends, ever since… Let me rephrase that. Almost ever since I met Talos, I believed that humans and Skrulls can help each other. The world is facing a serious threat. And I could use your help. It would mean putting on a new face and keeping it. This is the promise. While you work to keep my home safe, Carol Danvers and I will find you a new one.

Nick Fury: [1997 – flashback, to the Skrulls] You keep your word, I’ll keep mine.

Nick Fury: Tell me something I don’t know about the Skrulls that fled.
Talos: They’re here.
Nick Fury: Who’s here?
Talos: All of us.
Nick Fury: Wait. Woh. Woh. Woh. You’re telling me there’s a million Skrulls walking amongst us right now? Have you lost your reptilian-a** mind?

Nick Fury: You lied to me!
Talos: Hey, we were being hunted across the universe. I had two choices. I could let my people be annihilated, or summon them here to Earth. What would you have done?
Nick Fury: This ain’t about me!

Nick Fury: The host gets to set the terms of the visitation.
Talos: What happens when the host disappears, huh? Because you were gone! And I didn’t think you were coming back. I really didn’t. And you know what? Even when you did come back, there was no talking to you about anything real. Your boots barely hit Earth. And, “Oh, it’s too heavy here, man. I got to go up to my space station.” You’ve been up there for years!
Nick Fury: You knew how to get in touch with me, Talos. And you didn’t because you didn’t want me to know.

'I'm Nick Fury. Even when I'm out, I'm in.' (Secret Invasion) Share on X

Talos: My hope is that with your help, Skrulls and humans can coexist, here on Earth.
Nick Fury: Human can’t coexist with each other, Talos! You’ve been here long enough to know that! We’ve been at war with each other since we could walk upright! There is not enough room or tolerance on this planet for another species!

Maria Hill’s Mum: [to Fury] Don’t you be one of those b****rds who gives me a platitude when I’m looking for the truth!

Nick Fury: She died in Moscow. We were there trying to stop the attack. Someone set a trap.
Maria Hill’s Mum: For her?
Nick Fury: No, for me. Someone wanted to hurt me, so they hurt her.

Maria Hill’s Mum: So, you’re the reason I’m taking my daughter back home in a box.
Nick Fury: I’m sorry I couldn’t protect her, Elizabeth.
Maria Hill’s Mum: You’re Nick Fury. Maria believed in you. She would’ve followed you to the gates of hell and back. Look, I don’t know what Maria died for out there. But whatever it was, don’t let it be for nothing.

Gravik: [referring to Fury] He’s just vapors. Old. You know, I could’ve killed him if I wanted to. You don’t punish a man by giving him what he wants.

Gravik: I see you, all dressed up in the man’s finery, drinking the man’s wine. Playing the man’s game, using the man’s fork and knife.
NATO Sec. Gen. Caspani: Better to behave as a human than as a dog.
Gravik: Well, I quite like dogs. In fact, I prefer them. Dogs aren’t hypocrites. And they don’t lie. They don’t lock each other up in cages. They don’t pimp, poison, and they don’t go out of their way to degrade and destroy their own habitat.
NATO Sec. Gen. Caspani: A naive reading of human history.
Gravik: It’s the only reading of human history.

Gravik: I think it’s a war! And unlike the last war each one of us around this table fought in, I’m not going to lose this one. Humans are doomed to self-destruction. Long before we arrived on this planet, they were destined to consume themselves. So, for anyone flinching at the thought of innocent deaths, let me assure you, we’re only hastening the inevitable.

Shirley Sagar: We did not end up homeless refugees because we were unwilling to wage war. We ended up homeless refugees because we were too willing. I do not support your coup. I will not support your war. And I do not submit.
Gravik: If I had another hundred like you, I could take on the universe.

Talos: Set up a meet between me and Gravik. Public place.
Shirley Sagar: Talos, he will kill you.
Talos: Yeah, thanks for the faith.

Rhodey: If Slovakia rolls its eyes at me one more time, I’m going to put on the suit and carpet bomb it.

Nick Fury: Nice suit. Armani?
Rhodey: Brioni.
Nick Fury: Pretty expensive for a government salary.
Rhodey: Yeah, well, my other suit’s made of titanium, so this actually constitutes considerable savings.

Nick Fury: We need to meet. ASAP.
Rhodey: Great. Tell you what, let me just finish mopping up this globe-sized bucket of steaming hot kaka you tipped over yesterday, and then we can get a drink. Sound good?

Nick Fury: You sound frustrated. What’s the matter? Croatia talking crap?
Rhodey: Slovakia.
Nick Fury: Well, carpet-bomb their a**.

Rhodey: Yeah, don’t let the relaxed ambiance fool you. I’m this close to handing your a** over to the Russians.
Nick Fury: Forgetting your rank here, Colonel Rhodes?
Rhodey: You do not want to be playing “mine is bigger than yours” with job titles right now, Fury. Trust me, I’m the last friend you’ve got.

Nick Fury: I was there trying to stop the attack.
Rhodey: Oh, well, excellent job at that, by the way. Two thousand dead so far. Number will probably triple once they clear all the rubble. Meaning you not only set the stage for World War III, but you simultaneously flipped all of our allies to Team Russia.

Nick Fury: [referring to Rhodey’s security detail] What if I told you they were all spies?
Rhodey: Spies for who, the Russians?
Nick Fury: Well, non-state actors. You know, global reach, borderless operations.
Rhodey: HYDRA?
Nick Fury: Yeah. If HYDRA was a bunch of green guys who could shape-shift into your daddy.

Nick Fury: That invasion is real. It’s happened.
Rhodey: That’s not possible.
Nick Fury: Yeah, that’s what I thought too. But it’s true. And here’s the crazy part, we’re being invaded, and we can’t even tell who the invaders are.

Rhodey: Maybe we should call our friends.
Nick Fury: No, no, no, no. We can’t jump the gun on that. You know, we get them in a fight with the Skrulls, and next thing you know, they find themselves duplicated and turned into terrorists.

Nick Fury: This is my war, Rhodey. I need you to back me on this.
Rhodey: I can’t do it.
Nick Fury: Ain’t no “can’t” in our business. There’s only what you can do, and what you will not do.
Rhodey: You’re right. I should’ve said, I’m not doing it.

Rhodey: The job is political.
Nick Fury: I remember when your job was protecting the planet.
Rhodey: We protect the planet by protecting our seat at the table.
Nick Fury: Are you forgetting who helped you get your seat at the table?
Rhodey: Oh, so I owe you now? Is that it?
Nick Fury: We owe each other. Men who look like us don’t get promoted because of who our daddies know.

Rhodey: [to Fury] The world is on the line. The enemy is a million times more dangerous than HYDRA, but they can only be vanquished by you. Alone. And you want me to make the power mean something by helping a brother out. But you should know better than most. The reason we wrestled this power from mediocre men who don’t look like us was not simply to turn around and hand it to mediocre men who do.

Rhodey: The point of this power is to be uncompromising, to be unsparing, to be able to sit across from a man we greatly admire, with whom we share an entire professional, personal, ancestral history with, and to tell him without any reservation, that he’s fired. That’s what this moment right here, right now is about, Nick.

Nick Fury: They sent you to fire me?
Rhodey: Nobody sent me. I volunteered. And not to put too fine a point on this, but that mess that you created in Moscow that resulted in getting one of our best people murdered, you earned all this smoke, brother.

Nick Fury: Are you seriously under the impression that just because you strip me of my titles, I relinquish my DNA?
Rhodey: Careful, Fury. And you wonder why you’re out.
Nick Fury: I’m Nick Fury. Even when I’m out, I’m in.

Sonya Falsworth: Didn’t your mother ever warn you you could lose an eye by beating your meat like that?

FSB Commander: What makes you think you can get him to speak?
Sonya Falsworth: Oh, I can be quite persuasive.

Sonya Falsworth: Alone at last. Now, shall we do this the easy way or the other way?
Brogan: I’m going to break these chains. And then, I’m going to break every bone in your body.
Sonya Falsworth: The other way it is.

Brogan: You’re wasting your time. I’ll never talk to you.
Sonya Falsworth: Well, that’s very brave, but everyone talks when their blood starts to cook at a hundred sixty degrees centigrade. It’s a biochemical imperative. The smart ones start talking earlier than that. You a smart one? Right. I didn’t think so.

Sonya Falsworth: [as she’s going through the escape hatch] How very Dostoyevsky.

3. Betrayed'All faith is built on risk. So that's what we have to take.' - Pagon (Secret Invasion) Share on X

Gravik: Now at the council meeting, I told you I had a plan for taking Earth as our own. I sent three operatives to infiltrate the Royal Navy, and execute a strike on a key United Nations target. The heroes of Earth will react. The only way we can counter that and claim this planet as our home is to become super ourselves.

Gravik: Now, we no longer just change faces. We change powers. We’re going to be uniquely programmed weapons of mass destruction. All of us. Super Skrulls. Humans will be at all-out war with each other within the week. And while they’re at each other’s throats, we’re going to break their backs. I invite you to join me in the extinction of the human race.

'The difference between statesmen and soldiers. One lot spends the war posing for pictures, while the other does all the killing and the dying.' - Gravik (Secret Invasion) Share on X

Priscilla: [flashback, 1998] Looking for someone?
Nick Fury: Yes, I am.
Priscilla: What does she look like?
Nick Fury: That depends on what day of the week it is.

Nick Fury: This new face of yours is…
Priscilla: Beautiful? I agree.
Nick Fury: Who is she?
Priscilla: Well, that depends on where this goes.

Priscilla: How can you watch that poison?
Nick Fury: Even a broken clock’s right twice a day.

Priscilla: Those eggs supposed to be soft or hard boiled?
Nick Fury: Poached.
Priscilla: I forgot. Things cook differently up in space.

Priscilla: Do I dare ask what calamity must have transpired to bring you home, to me? It has been years.
Nick Fury: If you want me to apologize for being gone, Scilla, just say so.
Priscilla: Darling, you are Nick Fury. I never harbored any illusions about the necessity of you going away. But staying away, that leaves a mark.

Nick Fury: I retired.
Priscilla: Any plans for the downtime?
Nick Fury: Well, you know, I never cared much for golf, so. I’m thinking I may take up revenge.

Nick Fury: You been in touch with Gravik while I was gone?
Priscilla: And why are you asking me that?
Nick Fury: Because I just need to be sure.
Priscilla: About what?
Nick Fury: Who you’ve become while I was gone.

Priscilla: [to Fury] I became a widow in your absence. I wept on your pillow every night. I grieved for you. And just when I thought I had gotten past the heartbreak, you came back in the Blip. And silly me, I thought we were going to undo all the pain together. Go back to the way we were. But, no, you just up and vanished again. Only this time it was voluntary. So if you’re interested in who I became in your second absence, I became me. The me I was before you. What other choice was there when you kept disappearing as if you were never really here in the first place?

G’iah: Brogan under torture. I’d imagine when they asked him where they could find you, he was forced to make an educated guess.
Gravik: Is that what you’d do?
G’iah: I’d lie. I’m a good liar.

Gravik: [referring to the painting] Statesmen of World War I. That’s what it’s called. I mean, it just sums up the whole thing pretty nice, I’d say.
Talos: Which whole thing is that?
Gravik: Well, you know, the difference between statesmen and soldiers. You see, because one lot spends the war posing for pictures, while the other does all the killing and the dying.

Gravik: You ask me, Talos, choice between having my story told in ink and oil paint, or having it written in blood, I choose blood all day long.
Talos: Yours and everyone else’s. Huh?
Gravik: Yeah.
Talos: Brave.

Talos: Why don’t you just get an empty cup?
Gravik: I like a little bit of espresso with my sugar.

Talos: You’re going to take our people to the edge of extinction with the war with the humans.
Gravik: All these miscreants know is murder. Look how they treat each other. That’s what’s going to happen. We’re going to murder them all.
Talos: You don’t understand the first thing about humans. They’re at their most formidable when they’re threatened by a common foe.

Gravik: So, then, G’iah stays with me then, is it?
Talos: Now, until the end of time, my daughter’s name stays out of your mouth.

Talos: You really are shameless, aren’t you? Anyone that could say what you said to me yesterday, have the balls to come up in here and ask me for help?
Nick Fury: I didn’t ask you for help.
Talos: Oh, what, are you here to have an English breakfast, mate, or are you here to inquire after my well-being? No, I think it’s a pretty safe bet you ain’t here for that, right?

Talos: Say the words.
Nick Fury: Say what words?
Talos: “Help me, Talos, because I’m useless without you.”
Nick Fury: Help me, Talos, because I am useless without you.

Sonya Falsworth: First, I want an apology.
Nick Fury: I just gave away the only one of those I had today.
Sonya Falsworth: Well, you’ll have to double down, because you rather rudely attached a nasty bug to my beloved Hoot.
Nick Fury: Tell me that’s not the name of that owl clock.
Sonya Falsworth: No, not anymore. Has a new name now. Nicholas Fury. He has a rather dashing little eye patch now.

Talos: You know what? I don’t get the whole dog thing.
Nick Fury: What’s to get? Dogs are man’s best friend.
Talos: But I mean, come on, look at that. I mean, just name me one other interspecies relationship where it’s acceptable to clean up the other guy’s poop.
Nick Fury: I’ve been cleaning up your poop for the last thirty some years.
Talos: Oh, that’s rich.
Sonya Falsworth: Ah, the truth’s a mother dog, right?

Talos: You’re a smart and capable guy, Fury. Nobody questions that. But you’ve got to admit, your life got a hell of a lot more charmed once I came into it. And do you know something? I don’t even need to hear a bloody thank you from you. It was my pleasure, mate. Least you can do is not rewrite history when the guy who helped write it with you the first time is sitting right next to you.

Nick Fury: Remember Bob? The guy who is going to launch a nuclear attack?
Talos: Alright, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that.
Nick Fury: No, that’s because you were too busy riding the “we did that” wave. You got any more abuse you want to hurl my way? Or are you ready to go in here and take care of Bob? And then I get to say, “We did that.”
Talos: We can do that.

Talos: Do me a favor, Fury. Don’t ever change.

Talos: If you’re afraid of going against Gravik, I can protect you.
Bob Fairbanks: You couldn’t protect yourself coming through that door. You’re a shell of the General you used to be.

Nick Fury: So, why didn’t you take the deal?
Talos: What deal?
Nick Fury: Gravik’s. Got to be hard for you to be fighting with him when deep down in your bones you believe in what he’s doing.
Talos: S**t. Thirty years, you still don’t know me better than that?
Nick Fury: Alright, so make me understand.
Talos: I’m not with Gravik because I’m with you.

G’iah: I heard about the failed strike. Our men need exfiltration.
Gravik: I didn’t fail. That plane would have been valuable. Finding the traitor was essential. Go on, turn around.
G’iah: No. You will look at me. And you’ll ask yourself, are you a leader of Skrulls, or our worst enemy?
[Gravik then shoots her, seemingly killing her]

4. Beloved

Priscilla: [flashback, 2012] If he’s the man I think he is, he has a powerful sense of righteousness. He understands that the universe is a dangerous place. That home is worth fighting for. And that the weak are worth protecting.

Rhodey: President Ritson doesn’t find out that the sun’s come up unless I brief him. I fired Fury, okay? No, I’m sorry. Correction. I DDT’d that dude from the top rope. Yeah, it was like Undertaker level. It was really impressive.

Rhodey: [to Priscilla] What Gravik needs, what Gravik doesn’t need, that’s none of your concern. I’m the one telling you to kill Fury.

Rhodey: One of the two occupants of that lovely country manor of yours is catching a bullet today. You can flip a coin for all I care.
Priscilla: He’s broken. He’s been broken ever since he came back from the Blip. The old Fury, the one with power, the one with ability, the one who was indispensable to us, that Fury’s gone. Now this new one, he’ll be dead from exhaustion and defeat soon enough. We don’t need to kill him.

'When you find flesh, you push. When you find steel, you stop.' - Rhodey (Secret Invasion) Share on X

Rhodey: Priscilla. You keep telling me what you’re not going to do, I’m going to show you what I am going to.

Talos: I should never ever have forced you into this, and I am so sorry.
G’iah: And I don’t need your sorrow or your pity for anything I did of my own free will. The reason I’m with you now is because with you, Dad, it’s the only answer to the question of where I belong.

G’iah: Don’t you want to live in your own skin?
Talos: Of course I do. But we have to deal with reality. G’iah, we’re a people without a planet. We depend on the goodwill of our hosts. We just have to keep showing them who we are. We just keep contributing, show them our hearts. They will see us.
G’iah: You are delusional. That’s not who we are. And that is not who I’ve become.

Nick Fury: [tp Priscilla] Of all the dumba**, wrongheaded, reckless things I’ve done in my life, you are by far and away the greatest mistake. I lost all my reason to be your husband. Ignored every signal in my head, heart, and body that screamed, “Stop!” Even now, as I sit here, knowing you plan to kill me with that pistol of yours, I don’t know that if I had a chance to do it over again, that I’d do anything different.

Priscilla: [after she tells the story choosing her human counterpart] But at some point, I had to acknowledge the truth of what I was actually doing there in the first place.
Nick Fury: Which was?
Priscilla: Looking for someone who would slip your defenses.
Nick Fury: Ah. So you were playing the long game on me, even then.
Priscilla: Don’t do that, Nick.

Nick Fury: You asked if you could assume her life?
Priscilla: I asked if she wanted to fall in love. She wanted to know how, of course. And I told her about you. She made me make her three promises. One, that I would bury her at sea, which I did. Two, that I would continue to be a daughter to her parents.
Nick Fury: Which you’ve also done. Three?
Priscilla: That I would never hurt you. I’m sorry, darling.

Nick Fury: [to Priscilla, after they fire their guns and miss hitting each other] I’m not sure if this means we should get divorced, or we should renew our vows.

Priscilla: Would you have loved me if I’d never changed? If I’d been my true self?
Nick Fury: Guess we’ll never know.

Nick Fury: I wanted to share my favorite liquid lunch with you. Pappy Van Winkle. Twenty-three years of distilled perfection. I figured we could settle our beef like, you know, proper gentlemen. Pappy! You done outdid yourself on this one.
Rhodey: This the real thing?
Nick Fury: Five thousand dollars worth of twenty-four carat liquid gold.
Rhodey: Should I be worried about poison?
Nick Fury: Poison? No! Nanotechs.

Nick Fury: I have it on excellent authority, that there is a Skrull mole very close to the President.
Rhodey: Wow. Really? How close?
Nick Fury: As close as you and I are right now, but closer.
Rhodey: That’s a wild story.
Nick Fury: Ain’t it now? But here’s the kicker. All you got to do to keep my mouth shut about all this, give me my job back.

Rhodey: [to Fury] Is that really what you’re going to go with at your trial? The alien defense? “No, Your Honor. That’s not me. That’s a six-foot tall, bald, Black, one-eyed extraterrestrial.” Good luck with that.

Rhodey: [to Fury] Now, why don’t you hobble your ancient a** on out of here before I have you defenestrated?

Rhodey: [to Ritson] The key thing about the Russians is you have to project strength. Now, there’s an old Lenin quote, Vladimir, not John. “When you find flesh, you push. When you find steel, you stop.” You got to be steel, sir.

Ritson: Did you pre-game for our bilateral with the Russians with a half-bottle of bourbon?
Rhodey: I’m not sure I understand the question, sir.
Ritson: Let’s make sure the Colonel here has a large coffee for the road.

Talos: [as Gravik and his Skrull attack Ritson’s convoy] Bloody hell, Fury. It’s a kill zone.
Nick Fury: Whole planet will be a kill zone if we don’t save Ritson.
[during the fight, Gravik kills Talos]

Nick Fury: [to Ritson] Whatever you do, do not trust Colonel Rhodes.

Gravik: [to the Skrulls, after he kills Pagon] Pagon thought he had a voice, but none of you do. You’re faceless and you’re nameless.

Gravik: Fury doesn’t want to see World War III, or to see innocent Skrulls die. Let me handle him.
Rhodey: And if we don’t get what we want?
Gravik: Well, then we all do what we’ve prepared for. Sacrifice.

Rhodey: Listen, the country appreciates your service to the President tonight, but I’m here now. You can go.
Nick Fury: You must be out of your Skrull-a** mind, you think I’m going to let you get anywhere near the President.
Rhodey: Well, in order to out me, Nick, you’re going to have to kill me. And you don’t want to kill me, because you’re not ready to die.

Rhodey: You’re going to become the most wanted and hated man on the planet.
Nick Fury: You didn’t.
Rhodey: Oh, yeah. I did. I really, really did. So tick tock, Nick.

Derrik: Well, do you really believe that Skrulls could be amongst us?
Sonya Falsworth: Well, if you ask me, sir, I think they’re bloody everywhere.

SIS Officer: [after she shoots Derrik in the leg] Ms. Falsworth. What have you done?
Sonya Falsworth: Just showing Director Weatherby’s true colors.

Beto: [to Gravik] You’re nothing but a monster.

Nick Fury: Talos died.
G’iah: You can stop there. He died. On a foreign planet. On a foreign road. Nothing will come of it. I ran away from my father because I knew he would lose.
Nick Fury: Talos chose the path of struggle. He did not lose. You cannot let grief paralyze you, G’iah. This is your time. Now!

G’iah: Where are you going?
Nick Fury: Finland. You going to be alright, kid?
G’iah: Don’t worry about me. I’ll put on a good face.

Rosa: Who are you?
Sonya Falsworth: I think a more apt question would be, who would you like me to be? I’m staggeringly versatile. To give you a couple of examples, I’m very good at being your bestie. I’m also devilishly good at being not your bestie. It’s really just a matter of taste. Cake or death.

Sonya Falsworth: Nigel, we’re going to have to have someone in admin either fired, or, you know, shot, because this is becoming a bit of a health hazard.
Victor Dalton: No, my name’s Victor.
Sonya Falsworth: No, of course you are. Nigel’s the one with his silencer pressed against the base of your skull.

Sonya Falsworth: Well, Rosa, this really is a lovely laboratory. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to torch it. You win some, lose some.

Victor Dalton: [referring to Rosa] I won’t let her betray Gravik. Let us go, or I’ll kill her.
Sonya Falsworth: Oh, I don’t doubt you for a moment. The males in my species are very similar. If they’re not busy gaslighting you, they’re threatening you with murder. That’s what all the podcasts are about.

Nick Fury: I was wondering when you were going to call.
Gravik: You’d like to think you’re a step ahead of me, Fury.
Nick Fury: Ah. You’re a jet, and I need rocket fuel to stay ahead of you.

Mason: An Interpol Red Notice. Wow. They don’t just give those out to anyone. Kudos.
Nick Fury: Yeah, well, Mama always said I was special.
Mason: Yeah, Mama was right.

Nick Fury: Feel a lot better if we were on the Helicarrier.
Mason: Yeah, that’s been mothballed. A little bit like you should be.

G’iah: I told him he was a failure. What kind of daughter says that to her father?
Priscilla: The kind that intends to make it up to him the next time she sees him. The last thing I said to Fury before the Snap was, “If you keep spending all your time chasing aliens, you might lose the one you married.”

Priscilla: [referring to Fury] I wasn’t sure if he’d ever commit to calling any one place home, let alone any place with me. But I figured if I was going to give it a fighting chance, I’d need to find a place that offered the three things he valued most. Lots of privacy. Lots of security. And lots of…
G’iah: Leather.
Priscilla: Light.

G’iah: [referring to Fury] He ever get lost watching you in your own skin?
Priscilla: That’s none of your business.
G’iah: Well, I didn’t mean to offend.
Priscilla: Of course you did. You’re young, you think you know everything. But you don’t know what it takes to build a life with someone else, to sustain it.

Sonya Falsworth: Let me check I understand this. So, a billion dollars of research and development, and all the Widow’s Veil can cloak is your face? What about the rest of you?
Nick Fury: That’s the newer version, not this one.
Sonya Falsworth: Huh. Never mind.

Sonya Falsworth: And last I checked, Britain and the US were allies.
Nick Fury: Last I checked, Rhodey is a Skrull.
Sonya Falsworth: What?
Nick Fury: And you said I’d lost my touch.
Sonya Falsworth: Well, who in the hell isn’t a Skrull these days?

Nick Fury: Nearly every Avenger spilled blood in the Battle of Earth. Even Carol Danvers. In the aftermath, some were sent in to collect that DNA. Some with the ability to blend in. Nobody knew about them, but me and the collectors, led by…
Sonya Falsworth: Gravik.
Nick Fury: Gravik, yes. Which is probably where he got the idea for the Super Skrull machine.

Sonya Falsworth: So you are responsible for all this?
Nick Fury: Yeah. Why do you think I came back?

Sonya Falsworth: A Scandinavian cemetery? I should’ve brought my scythe.
Nick Fury: Only dead men keep secrets. You taught me that, Sonya.

Sonya Falsworth: Fury, why haven’t you called any of your special friends down?
Nick Fury: This is personal. We can’t keep depending on these superheroes to swoop in and save our a**es. None of them have lived the life I have. None of them can defend the world the way I can.

Nick Fury: The only power I have was planted between my ears by a single mother, and wrapped around my finger by a woman who’s far greater than I could ever hope to be. If that ain’t enough, then I don’t know what hope we have. If that ain’t enough, maybe I am just dust.

Sonya Falsworth: [referring to his grave] Don’t you have another one of these?
Nick Fury: Oh, I got these all over the place, you know? Dead men need options.
Sonya Falsworth: Why Finland?
Nick Fury: Priscilla and I honeymooned here. Skrulls like the cold. Now, you understand.

Sonya Falsworth: Well, they do say Darwin never sleeps. Let’s give our extinction a nice leg up.

Nick Fury: It’s time. Let’s finish this.

6. Home

Priscilla: This is the first time you called this number in years.
Nick Fury: I have dialed this number a million times. This is just the first time I pressed send.
Priscilla: Oh. Well, that’s cold consolation.

Priscilla: You sound far away. Are you?
Nick Fury: Far enough to where it makes sense to keep going the way I’m going.
Priscilla: Know if you’ll be coming back?
Nick Fury: I’ll let you go now.
Priscilla: You don’t have to, if you don’t want to, darling.
Nick Fury: Take care of yourself.

Sonya Falsworth: You have to get him out of there.
Rhodey: Who?
Sonya Falsworth: The President, you bloody idiot. Fury’s headed straight for you.
Rhodey: Fury? Why are we concerned about Fury? We got enough security for him.
Sonya Falsworth: For what? Target practice? Fury’s lost it.

Gravik: To the last stand of the great Nick Fury.

Gravik: [to Fury] Bet you never would’ve thought your last twenty minutes on Earth would be spent down here, having a drink with me.

Gravik: Fury, tell me you got a backup plan. Your little Avengers on standby? What about that invisible cloak and shield?
Nick Fury: You’re too busy playing dress-up, using my skin like a costume.
Gravik: A costume, Fury? Do you not recognize this skin? Huh? This face. This was the first human I killed. And you know why I killed him? I killed him because you told me to.

Gravik: But I killed him because of you! I killed him, and I killed so many more. And everyone I killed took a little piece out of my heart.
Nick Fury: Well, you’re not the only one.
Gravik: No. But I am the only one brave enough to admit it.

Gravik: You pimped us, Fury. You put us out to work for you, and when you were done with us, you threw us away. So, first, I’m going to kill you. And then I’m going to take a flamethrower to humanity.

Gravik: [Fury] You did this. All the bombs, and the blackouts, and the massacres, and the wildfires, and the imminent removal of humans from their habitat, that is all you! The species you spent your entire adult life defending, they were condemned to die the day I realized you weren’t a man of your word.

Gravik: You know, Fury, you really should’ve kept your promise.
Nick Fury: You’re right. You’re right, I failed you. I failed you.

Nick Fury: It’s easier to save the lives of eight billion people than it is to change their hearts and minds.
Gravik: Even for Nick Fury?
Nick Fury: Even for Nick Fury.

Nick Fury: And then The Blip came. You know, the last thing I felt before I flaked off?
Gravik: What’s that?
Nick Fury: Relief. Relief that I didn’t have to fight anymore. That I finally had a way out. But you’re right. I wasn’t brave.

Gravik: Oh, Fury. I think the radiation is eating your brains, mate.

Sonya Falsworth: No checking behind the doors? You really are a Skrull.
Rhodey: Sonya, I don’t know what it is you think you’re doing, but…
Sonya Falsworth: No buts. Just yours back into the hallway. Go on.

Nick Fury: [referring to Rhodey] He is a Skrull. And if you don’t call off the strike, you’re going to kill the man he’s replicating along with some of the world’s greatest minds.
Ritson: Wait. What?

Gravik: [to G’iah, as they’re fighting] You’re just like your father. Just like them.

Ritson: [to the Skrulls] We know who you are. We know how to find you. And we will kill every last one of you.

Priscilla: I know who I am when you’re not here. It’s when you come back that I start to wonder. Did you fall in love with me? Or the face that puts you at ease?
Nick Fury: I love you, Priscilla. I’m here to ask you for one last chance. I’m leaving tonight.
Priscilla: Then I guess this is goodbye.
Nick Fury: If you can find a way to forgive me, you know where to find me.

Sonya Falsworth: Oh, I haven’t come for fight, G’iah. With your special abilities, it would be a lopsided affair.

Sonya Falsworth: [to G’iah] Yes, well, let’s be sure not to repeat the mistakes of Talos and Fury, and leave love and friendship out of this. I will use you, and you will use me, and together we’ll make this planet safe for both our people.

Ritson: I was relieved that we made it out alive.
Nick Fury: I was relieved too. Until I watched that hateful-a** speech you made. Putting things back together was never going to be easy.

Nick Fury: [to Ritson] You took a bad situation and made it worse. That’s real one-term-President stuff.

Ritson: There’s only one way this ends. The old Nick Fury would have known that. And if you truly care about the Skrulls, get them off my planet.

Priscilla: The Kree make peace. Reminds me of that old joke. What do Skrulls call good luck? Bad luck.

Nick Fury: You’re the best diplomat the Skrulls have ever had. I’m no good with people. You are.
Priscilla: You’ve got your own way.
Nick Fury: Yeah, well, I’m sick of it. And we’re better together. Well, at least, I am. Please, come with me.
Priscilla: I’ll help you get started. But then I’ve got to get back. All my work is here, darling. And it’s never been more important. I just wanted to tell you that I love you. As I am.
Nick Fury: Only as you are.
[he kisses her in her natural form and they leave Earth for SABER]
