Frankie: Hey, look, if we’re going to be honest here, the spirits of the West have kind of been messing s**t up for a while now. So why don’t we just leave them out.
Tabby: She’s got a valid point.

Lourdes: See, this is why we can only do basic magick. We’ve never had a fourth.

Frankie: You’re obsessed with telepathically communicating.
Lourdes: Read the book. “So it shall be sealed and done, when all four corners meet as one.”

Adam: Hi, Lily. I finally got you here. It’s nice to see you again. Last time was on your turf though, so now it’s my home-court advantage. That’s a sports metaphor. A metaphor,
sort of like analogy.
Lily: Oh, yeah. I get it. Yeah, I get it.
Adam: Dad joke. Guilty.

Adam: [to Lily] Come on in and meet the boys. They’re really excited to meet you. I think they even bathed.

Helen: How you feeling about school tomorrow? Are you excited? You can make some new friends.
Lily: Well, that would imply that I had old friends.

Helen: There’s going to be D-bags no matter where you go, right?
Lily: Mom. It’s not nice.
Helen: Sorry.
Lily: It’s “douchebags”.
Helen: “Douchebags”? I was going for “d**kbags”.

Helen: [to Lily] Just remember what I always tell you. Your difference is your power.

[finding Lily crying in the bathroom]
Tabby: Listen, it happens to everyone. Timmy’s just a d**k.
Lourdes: Seriously, don’t waste your tears on him. I mean, you’re not alone. He’s made us all cry at one point or another.
Frankie: Also, girl, your flow is heavy, and that is something to celebrate.
Tabby: Frankie, bro.
Frankie: What? I’m just saying. Aunt Flo’s in from the Redland.

Tabby: [to Lily] You can sit with us if you want.
Frankie: Not that anybody really wants to sit with us anyways.

Frankie: [to Lily] Oh, my God. Did he just look at you?
Tabby: Down, girl. Frankie’s been in love with Jacob since the fifth grade.
Frankie: [laughs] What? No, no. No. No!
Lily: He’s kind of my brother.
Lourdes: Come a-who?
Lily: Stepbrother. Or soon-to-be stepbrother.

Timmy: [to Lily] Look who it is. Just in time for first period.
Jacob: Timmy.
Timmy: You know what helps with cramps? Sex.
[as Lily goes to push him away, a supernatural force tosses him aside]

Frankie: [referring to Lily] Oh, s**t! I told y’all haters she was the fourth! Yes. Yes, y’all! It’s the motherfricking reckoning!

Lourdes: We sent you a message telepathically.
Frankie: Yeah. Just like telepathically communicating with you. NBD. JK. It’s like a VBD for sure, because now you’re actually here, and we on some s**t IRL.
Lily: Okay. Can somebody translate?
Tabby: Okay. Okay It was a test to see if your antennas were up.
Frankie: And they up!

Tabby: Okay. So like when did you start getting a sense of your gift?
Lily: What are you guys talking about? What?
Frankie: We’re witches.

Lily: Sorry, this is all just a little new to me.
Tabby: I mean, it’s new to us too. We’ve never thrown a grown-a** man.
Lourdes: That was so wild!

Tabby: And that’s just stage one, moving stuff with our minds.
Lourdes: Or people, I guess, in Timmy’s case.
Frankie: If he even counts as a person.
Lourdes: True that. Anything.

Frankie: Stage four, shape-shifting.
Lily: Shape-shifting.
Lourdes: You know, the power to take on a different form?
Frankie: And if we get to stage four, I’m low-key turning myself into Kristen Stewart.
Lourdes: Don’t judge. She’s a Twilight stan.

Tabby: Point is, we’ve never made it past stage one.
Lourdes: Never.
Frankie: [points to Lily] And then in walks Robert Pattinson.
Tabby: Bro!
Frankie: What? You tell me she’s not giving off Edward Cullen vibes right now.
Lily: I’m sorry, can you guys just slow down? I’m having a hard time catching up.

Tabby: Yeah, you see, we’ve been looking for our fourth for a while now. You know, we thought we could form a coven, just us three.
Lourdes: It doesn’t work like that.
Tabby: No, because, you see, we each have an element that corresponds to a direction. I’m fire.
Frankie: Air.
Lourdes: Earth.
Tabby: So you’ve got North, South, East. But West, that was a tough get.
Lourdes: And now you’re here. You’re water. You’re West.

Tabby: In order for us to have like maximum power, we all need to be on our directions.
Frankie: The term is “calling the corners”.
Lily: Okay. This is a lot. But I am listening, and also working through a low-level panic attack.

Frankie: Okay, we know that this is probably a lot to take in right now. But you shouldn’t run from your power. None of us should.
Lily: That’s what my mom always says. “Your difference is your power.”
Tabby: Oh, then mom’s cool.

[kneels in front of Lily and takes her hand]
Frankie: Will you be our fourth? Come on, I got bad knees.
Lourdes: Her ACLs are going to tear.
Lily: You had me at shape-shifting into Kristen Stewart.

Frankie: I mean, witchcraft in general is such a charged word. We literally house babies in our stomachs. That’s some Ridley Scott s**t. We have superpowers without even trying.
Lourdes: I mean, not all of us can do that, but…
Frankie: S**t. You know, point taken. My bad, Lou.
Lourdes: Yeah, it’s all good. Y’all know trans girls got our own magick anyway.

Tabby: That’s why covens have always been so important. Because half the battle of having powers is believing you do.

Frankie: So whenever we do a spell, we always cast a circle first. Think of it as, you know, making a container to hold all of our energies.
Tabby: And to keep the bad s**t out.

[after using their power to freeze time]
Tabby: Okay, but if we could do that, now what should we do?

Lily: [referring to Timmy] We don’t want to hurt him though, right?
Tabby: Why not?
Frankie: No, she’s right. Hexing is serious.

Frankie: [casting a spell] In spirit, and in body, and in perfect love, and perfect trust, may we awaken Timmy to his highest self. From this day forth. Blessed be.

Helen: I was starting to get a little worried.
Lily: Yeah, sorry. I was just hanging out with my friends.
Helen: Friends?
Lily: Yes. Radical, I know.

[after Adam tells Lily off about her altercation with Timmy]
Abe: Listen, my dad can be strict, but he does it out of love. You know? He always says, “Power equals order.”

Lourdes: Hey, listen. We don’t know for sure that this Timmy stuff is because of us.
Frankie: But all signs point to it definitely is.
Lourdes: Well, we’ll certainly see at his party tonight.
Frankie: Scene of the crime.
Tabby: Okay, but we need to proceed with caution.
Lourdes: Agreed. These kinds of spells are no joke. From now on, when it comes to Timmy, we need to talk through everything we do, how we do it, and when.

Frankie: Careful. Words hurt.

Timmy: Lily, I think I owe you an apology. The other day, I was, what’s the word I’m looking for?
Lily: An a**hole?
Timmy: Yeah. Yeah, no. That’s the word. I guess it has to do with power, and me shaming you around something that’s already pretty vulnerable, so. I guess what I’m trying to say is sorry.

Frankie: I’m just going to go ahead and say it. I’m really into Woke Timmy.
Lily: What about proceeding with caution?
Lourdes: Lily’s right. We have to be really careful.

[after admitting to using the Ouija board to talk to his mother]
Lily: What did she say?
Timmy: She told me to clean my room.
Lily: No.
[they both laugh]
Timmy: Yeah. Like she really did.
Lily: That must’ve taken a really long time to spell out on a Ouija board.
Timmy: It was definitely like a good five minutes, or something like that.

[playing Two Truths One Lie]
Tabby: I wish I had more Black friends. I am scared for my brother’s safety every day. And I don’t like Beyoncé. Okay, someone else.
Frankie: You didn’t let us guess.
Tabby: Well, I said three truths.
Lily: Wait, you don’t like Beyoncé?
Tabby: No, b**ch. I love her.

[after admitting to the girls he and Isaiah hooked up]
Lourdes: Have you and Isaiah ever talked about it?
Timmy: Are you kidding me? He won’t even look at me since it happened. S**t. I’m sorry.
It’s just, it’s felt good when it’s been with girls as well, so. Oh, God. I don’t know. It’s just hard for dudes. I feel like there’s no room to be… Everyone just assumes you’re just gay, and that’s fine. You know, there’s nothing wrong with that at all. I just, I like both. You know?

Timmy: Listen, I just want to say, thank you. For today. I just feel like a massive weight lifted off my shoulders. Like I can just finally be myself. If that makes sense.
Lily: It does.
[he leans in and kisses her]

[after being told that Timmy’s committed suicide]
Lily: This can’t be happening.
Frankie: He was just here. I mean, do you think that we’re sort of responsible? It’s like he told us this huge secret. This huge secret that he clearly was not ready to deal with.
Lily: No! No, something doesn’t add up.

Lily: He came to my room last night. And he was, he told me he felt like a weight lifted.
Frankie: Just the two of you?
Lily: This is stupid, but I did this like love spell, and then he came right into my room, and he kissed me.
Tabby: What?

Tabby: Was all of this just like some game to you?
Lily: What?
Tabby: All of this work that we did together was about building trust, about building community, and not letting some stupid crush get in the way of everything we’ve been working for.
Lily: I know!
Tabby: Do you?

Tabby: I think we should take a break from magick. If we’re not going to use our power responsibly, then we shouldn’t be using it at all.

Adam: I want to talk today about weakness. Because when one of us is weak, all of us are weak. But how do we alchemize weakness into sovereign power? How do we eliminate the weakest among us so that the strongest can thrive?

Adam: Lily, I want to apologize for being so tough on you. You know, it wasn’t always so easy for me, raising three boys on my own. I had to set very strict rules and keep them in line. I know that’s not how you and your mom operate. I wanted to say that I’m sorry.

Adam: [to Lily] I saw you checking out the old family crest, huh? It’s actually pretty cool. These go back centuries. You know, snakes are usually considered scary, or dangerous. But actually, in pagan culture, they were symbols of rebirth.

[after having a nightmare]
Lily: He’s dangerous.
Helen: Who?
Lily: Adam. I’m telling you.

[after Lily finds out she was adopted]
Helen: Lily, it’s complicated.
Lily: No, it’s really not. It’s like a simple conversation that should have happened a long time ago.

Helen: She didn’t want you to know that you were adopted, and I made a promise to her. And it was such a, God, it was a complicated…
Lily: Why would she want that?
Helen: Because she had undergone some trauma. I was assigned to her at the crisis center here.

Frankie: Well, what happened to our number one rule of the craft? If a person is a danger to herself, or others, they will be bound. She used her powers irresponsibly. End of story.
Tabby: But like are we any better though? I mean like, what we did to Timmy. That wasn’t consensual either.
Frankie: Well, then maybe we should bind ourselves too.

Lourdes: [casting a spell] We are bound to each other and bound from magick.
Tabby: We prevent ourselves from doing harm.
Frankie: We relinquish our powers from this day forth.
All Together: So mote it be.

Helen: It has been so painful, you can’t imagine, to watch you understand that you were different and not know why. Now you can see why your difference is dangerous. But I need you to say it with me, Lily. In the name of Manon, I give you my power. You can trust me. I’m your mother.
Lily: My mother would never tell me my difference is dangerous.
[she hits Helen and she shape-shifts into Adam]

[as Lily tries to use her powers and fails]
Adam: Those don’t seem to be working anymore. Thanks to your so-called friends. You see, that’s the thing about girls with power, Lily. They’re always too weak not to use it against each other.

Lily: What do you want from me?
Adam: That’s an excellent question. Oh, you see, Lily, I want your power.

Lily: Where’s my mother?
Adam: Which one? Helen. She’s tied up at the moment. Your real mom. Well, she’s tied up too, in a different way. You’re a lot like her. You know, she fought it at first, but eventually she gave in.

Adam: You see, Lily, in order to gain a witch’s power, she has to give them up voluntarily. So you do have a choice here. We can do this the easy way, or the hard way.
Lily: You’ll have to kill me first.
Adam: So the easy way.
[as he goes to hit her, he freezes]

Lily: You guys came for me.
Frankie: There’s no I in “sisterhood”, baby.
Tabby: Bro, there is definitely an I in “sisterhood.”
Frankie: You get my meaning.
Lourdes: What we were saying was….
Tabby: We’re sorry.
Frankie: We love you, and we unbind you, Lily.

Adam: You girls ought to be careful in the woods at night. A lot of weirdos out here.
Tabby: We are the weirdos, mister.

Adam: You see, Lily, power is order. It belongs in the hands of those who understand it. It’s been that way for thousands of years. Timmy’s a good example of that. Until you tried to make him in your own image. So then I had to kill him to restore the order. Because we are not in your image. We are your rulers and kings.

Adam: The thing is, Lily, you got yourself here. But you’re playing with fire, and I’m going to watch you burn.

[as they girls are using their powers to burn Adam]
Lily: Now it’s your turn to burn.

Frankie: How’s the warlock dating pool treating you? Are you steering clear?
Lily: Frankie!
Frankie: What? It’s too soon?
Helen: A little, yeah.
Frankie: It’s just a joke. But also not really, because we almost did die.

Nancy Downs: Can I help you?
Lily: My name is Lily. And I’m your daughter.
