Story:
Supernatural horror sequel directed and co-written by David Gordon Green. The Exorcist: Believer (2023) centers on Victor Fielding (Leslie Odom, Jr.), who since the death of his pregnant wife has raised his daughter, Angela (Lidya Jewett) on his own. But when Angela and her friend, Katherine (Olivia Marcum), disappear in the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, it unleashes a chain of events that will force Victor to confront the nadir of evil, and in his terror and desperation, seek out the only person alive who has witnessed anything like it before, Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn).

Ann: What do you think evil is? I’ll tell you what I think it is. We’re born in this world with hope, and dreams, and a desire to be happy. The devil has one wish, to make us lose faith, to kill it in us. And the devil never gives up.
Victor: You have some experience with possession?
Chris MacNeil: Yes, more than I’d like.
Victor: [to Chris] I believe you can help get our girls back.
Chris MacNeil: Exorcism is a ritual. Every culture, every religion, they all use different methods. It’s going to take all of them.
Chris MacNeil: She knows who I am. Where’s the other girl?
Victor: Taken care of at home.
Chris MacNeil: That’s not a good idea.
Angela: [possessed] He’s waiting for you.
Katherine: [possessed] Don’t be scared.
Chris MacNeil: We’ve met before.
Katherine: [possessed] Are you looking for Regan? Are you looking for Regan? She burns in hell! Regan’s gone.

Father Phillips: What you’re doing here is dangerous. People have died on both sides of possession.
Victor: The only thing that’s ever mattered is protecting my kid.
