Our list of the best quotes from HBO post-apocalyptic drama television show based on the video game of the same name. The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed and follows Joel (Pedro Pascal), a smuggler who is tasked with escorting 14-year-old Ellie (Bella Ramsey) across a post-apocalyptic Amercia. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the US and depend on each other for survival.
We’ll add the best quotes once the series is released and we’ve had a chance to watch it, but for now here’s a small selection.

Joel Miller: No. You’re cargo.
Tess: Why are you so important?

Joel Miller: If she so much as twitches…
Tess: [as Ellie mimics twitching] Don’t.
Ellie Williams: Yeah, okay.
Tess: This is your chance, our best shot. You keep her alive, and you set everything right. Save who you can save.
Joel Miller: If I’m taking you with me, you do what I say when I say it.
Joel Miller: You got any advice on the best way west?
Marlon: Yeah. Go east.
Marlon: If you’ve come this far, then you know what’s out there.
Ellie Williams: You’re not going to scare us.
Florence: [referring to Joel] Scared him.
Marlene: You have a greater purpose than any of us could’ve ever imagined.

Ellie Williams: Everybody I’ve cared for, has either died or left me.
Joel Miller: You have no idea what loss is.
Henry: You might not be her father, but you were someone’s.
Joel Miller: Do you trust me?
