Story:
Supernatural horror directed by Julius Avery. Inspired by actual case files, The Pope’s Exorcist (2023) centers on Father Gabriele Amorth (Russell Crowe), a priest who acted as Chief Exorcist of the Vatican and performed more than 100,000 exorcisms in his lifetime. We follow Amorth as he investigates a young boy’s terrifying possession and ends up uncovering a centuries-old conspiracy the Vatican has desperately tried to keep hidden.
We’ll add the best quotes once the movie is released and we’ve had a chance to watch it, but for now, here’s a small selection.

Father Gabriele Amorth: What is your purpose?
Demon: You. I am your nightmare.
Father Gabriele Amorth: My nightmare is France winning the World Cup.
Demon: You can’t hide behind your jokes forever.
Dad: [as Amy answers the phone] Amy, it’s dad.
Amy: Daddy?
Demon: You’re all going to die.
Priest: It’s the Vatican seal.
Father Gabriele Amorth: The Church has fought against this demon before and the Vatican covered it up.
Father Gabriele Amorth: The Vatican must have known this, and they buried the truth here.
Demon: [to Amorth] You’ve been played. And you took the bait.
Father Gabriele Amorth: Whatever you do, you only do because God allows it.
Demon: [as he’s using his powers to strangle Amy] Did he allow that.
