Story:

Historical drama directed and co-written by Gina Prince-Bythewood, inspired by true events, The Woman King (2022) follows Nanisca (Viola Davis), the general of the Dahomey Amazons in the Kingdom of Dahomey, as she trains the next generation of recruits and readies them for battle against an enemy determined to destroy their way of life.
