Story:

Black comedy crime drama directed by Doug Liman. American Made (2017) is based on the real exploits of Barry Seal (Tom Cruise), a TWA pilot who became a drug smuggler in the 1980s and is then recruited by the CIA to help counter the emerging communist threat in Central America, who then soon finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations in the history of the United States. Seal’s role in this major CIA covert operation led in turn to his involvement with the Medellin cartel and almost brings down the Reagan White House.
