Review By Carolyn D’Arco (Naples, Florida, US)
This is it…the movie we have all waited so long for: Avengers: Endgame. It’s been 11 years since Iron Man (2008) as the MCU finally concludes the Infinity War Saga with its 22nd movie, directed by the Russo Brothers and written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Before entering the movie theater, I made sure to watch only the trailers and to stay away from any spoilers on the Internet or anywhere else. I recommend that you do so as well because this movie takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions, from hilariously comedic scenes to tear-jerking moments. Needless to say, still AMAZING!
This is a NON-spoiler review, so don’t worry, it is safe to read this if you have not yet had the pleasure of watching this masterpiece. However, I must stress that you must see it ASAP because this movie is amazing! Avengers: Endgame starts out with the remaining members of the Avengers that survived after Thanos’s (Josh Brolin) snap in Infinity War. The team ultimately becomes determined to make the Avengers whole again and save the world once more.
I loved how the movie started out with the remaining Avengers at a loss for what to do next after their defeat in Infinity War. Most had given up hope and just accepted what had happened, but watching them refuse to give up and fix the calamity that had occurred was absolutely breathtaking! The acting in this movie was absolutely phenomenal! The performances given by RDJ and Chris Evans stood out to me the most.
Iron Man (RDJ) and Captain America (Chris Evans) had such a monumental impact on the MCU and delivered the ending we needed to sign off these characters. For the size of the cast in this movie, especially towards the end, each character had a respective amount of screen time. There is one character who displays a massive amount of character development which you’ll discover once you have the pleasure of watching this film. The plot of this movie was well written. The ingenious approach to developing this story by Markus and McFeely gave way for the opportunity to include SO many Easter eggs.
There were so many moments that I did not see coming from the return of certain characters to scenes that caused the theater to become silent in amazement. I did not really see any major flaws and the only minor flaws that I saw were just small nitpicks and personal preferences.
This film is one of the best superhero films EVER! The amount of time and effort the Russo Brothers put into to make this movie a reality is really shown by how amazing this movie is! Avengers: Endgame is a MARVELous treat to any marvel fan or even to just your average movie goer. This movie is a definite must-see in my book! By the time you leave the theater, the phrase “Avengers Assemble!” will bring the emotional impact that leaves the audience more than satisfied!
