Story:
Comedy caper directed and co-written by Ethan Coen. In search of a fresh start, the two embark on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee, but things quickly go awry when they cross paths with a group of inept criminals along the way.
We’ll add the best quotes once the movie is released and we’ve had a chance to watch it, but for now, here’s a small selection.
Quotes:
Man: The case, Santos.
Santos: Not on your life.
The DJ: Hello, girls! It’s the last body shot competition. So we are going to salt you up.
Jamie: I’ve had it with love. I don’t believe it’s relevant to the 21st century lesbian.
Girl: You’re not wearing that.
Marian: I just came from work.
Girl: I came from Toledo. I don’t dress like it.
Marian: I’m not here to peddle my wares.
Marian: I’m leaving town.
Jamie: I am too, that was my plan. Where are you going?
Marian: Tallahassee, Florida.
Marian: I’ve been unhappy.
Jamie: That’s why we take this trip together, honey babe. We get our act together together.
Curlie: Curlie’s Drive Away. Pennsylvania’s most trusted name in car delivery.
Jamie: Curlie here.
Curlie: Don’t call me Curlie.
Jamie: Ain’t your name Curlie?
Curlie: My name is Curlie. We just met. It’s too familiar.
Man #1: We’re here for the car.
Curlie: Wait a minute. You call with a drop off in Tallahassee, and then these broads come in, and say they’re ready to go to Tallahassee. They drive the car instead of you. Is that bad?
Man #2: Bad if they find the goods.
Jamie: [after finding the case in the trunk] What?
Marian: [referring to the case] We should see what’s in here.
Jamie: I bet it’s locked.
Man #2: I understand that you are unhappy, sir. We will find and deliver the package.
Arliss: We just want your friends.
Arliss: You cannot relate to the public, which in the service profession is a big handicap.
Friend: [to Jamie and Marian] Did the two creeps find you?
Jamie: They know we have their stuff. Maybe we sell it back. Shake them down.
Soccer Girl: Are they like wanted or something?
Arliss: Oh, no. They’re not in trouble at all.
Jamie: I’m going to help you break a big murder case.
Friend: That is about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. And I’m a cop.
Man #3: Who are you?
Marian: Democrats.
Friend: [to Jamie and Marian] Wow. You’ve had a full day.
