Quotes:
Wizard: The best way to bring folks together is to give them a real good enemy.
Glinda: Are people born wicked? Or do they have wickedness thrust upon them?
Glinda: You’re green.
Elphaba: I am.
Madame Morrible: Welcome new students to Shiz University. Miss…?
Elphaba: Elphaba.
Madame Morrible: You can room with Ms. Galinda.
Glinda: Oh, I saved you some space, by the way.
Elphaba: Do you really think this is fair?
Glinda: I do not. I was promised a private suite, but thanks for asking.
Dr. Dillamond: Please, everyone take your seats. In today’s Oz, a real sorcerer who possesses true magic has become all too rare.
Elphaba: Something just takes over me. And when it does, bad things happen.
Madame Morrible: Absolutely remarkable.
Madame Morrible: Once you learn to harness your emotions, the sky is the limit.
Glinda: That was you that made all that happen. How did you do it?
Elphaba: I don’t know. I’ve never known!
Madame Morrible: You. Come with me.
Glinda: Of course.
Madame Morrible: [referring to Elphaba] Not you. You.
Madame Morrible: [to Elphaba] You’re the one the Wizard has been waiting for.
Pfannee: [picks up an old looking witch hat] Glinda?
ShenShen: Ew!
Glinda: I know. It’s my granny’s. I’d give it away, but I don’t hate anyone that much.
Glinda: [to Elphaba, as she offers the old witch hat] You should join us tonight, and don’t tell me you have nothing to wear, because you could wear this.
Fiyero: I see that the responsibility to corrupt my fellow students falls to me.
Fiyero: [referring to Elphaba] She doesn’t give a twig what anyone thinks.
Elphaba: Of course she does. She just pretends not to.
Elphaba: You pretend to be shallow, and self-absorbed.
Fiyero: Excuse me. There is no pretense here. I happen to be genuinely self-absorbed, and deeply shallow.
Fiyero: Why is it you’re always causing some sort of commotion?
Elphaba: I don’t cause commotions. I am one. Some of us are just different.
Wizard: Bring her to me.
Wizard: Just follow the road. It’s going to lead you right to me.
Elphaba: [reads from her invitation] The Wonderful Wizard of Oz summons you to the Emerald City.
Elphaba: Come with me.
Glinda: What?
Elphaba: To meet the Wizard!
Glinda: I couldn’t possibly. This is your moment! I’m coming.
Wizard: I am Oz, The Great and Terrible.
Elphaba: Something bad is happening in Oz.
Wizard: The best way to bring folks together is to give them a real good enemy.
Elphaba: You have no real power.
Wizard: That’s why I need you.
Madame Morrible: Don’t let her get away! This wicked witch.
Glinda: Listen to me. You can do anything.
Elphaba: I know.
Glinda: Don’t be afraid.
Elphaba: I’m not afraid. It’s the Wizard who should be afraid of me.
